CH Field General Trading

In 2008, the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai, was founded and CH Field was given a General Trading Licence by the Dubai government which enables the import of a variety of goods without having to pay any duty. Essentially this allows us to act as your company in JAFZA so that as our customer, you benefit from a low cost and low risk entry point into Middle Eastern and other markets, negating the need for the excessive red tape that is usually required to trade in these areas. There is also no need for other distributors or middle men which offers you considerable savings.

Datafreight Online

Our new service is called Datafreight Online and allows customers to view their consignment information and invoice summaries online in real time, it also enables them to upload shipping documents and track the status of their current jobs. Currently in its trial stage, we are developing the facility for customers to request their own quotes.

The Business Centre Sept 2013

In September 2013, we were present at the Business Centre in China. Our entrance was themed in an African/Middle East style that was designed to represent the strength, endurance, agility and teamwork qualities that are synonymous with our business. The centre offered delegates a place to meet, network, go online and do business with each other.

Compliance & Risk Management

Compliance is vital in international trade and within supply chains, although the demands and restrictions are becoming more complicated. These restrictions can often result in severe penalties if the rules are not properly followed, something that can cause damage your company and result in negative publicity that can bring unwanted attention and be harmful to your brand. Charles Kendall are experts in this field and have over 30 years’ experience in the industry and can offer advice and assistance on compliance, customs regulation and risk assessment that relate to supply chain and freight management.

Health Check Service

Our expert team at Charles Kendall will put together a detailed assessment of any categories or risks that may be relevant to you and then come up with a strategy to control and manage the risk. Our service includes an on-site audit of the import and export practices that you currently have in place which will highlight any issues, we will then assess your compliance to find out how it fits in with current industry regulations and legislation. We can offer advice on classifying your products and then will establish customs rulings to ensure you have the correct rate of duty. We will also ways look at ways for you to save money and reduce your cash flow overall.

Supply Chain Security

The SAFE Framework of Standards was accepted by the WCO council in 2005 in order to help secure and facilitate global trade as well as a way to discourage international terrorists, support international trade and make sure revenue collections were carried out safely. The SAFE Framework standards have proved to be so popular that they are being implemented by more and more countries as part of their customs management. At Charles Kendall we are proud to have in excess of 50 years’ experience in Compliance and this is backed by our relationship with both AEO, we have held their accreditation since 2010 and C-TPAT, which we use as benchmark for our business and offers customers a streamlined customs service that include a more consistent supply chain and a smoother passage through US Customs that reduces the likelihood of VACCIS examinations.

AEO Status

In February 2010, Charles Kendall were proud to be awarded the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation which is extremely desirable to many companies and we are pleased to hold AEO the highest level.  Our security and safety standards have been audited and along with our written quality procedures are approved across the UK. This affords us the benefit of having a lower risk score with the HMRC systems and allows us to offer our customers a "Fastrack" service that moves them through customs control much quicker. This has cemented our relationship with HMRC in the supply chain and offers our customers peace of mind knowing that they are dealing with a company that is highly experienced and confident to handle their products.

Incoterms

Incoterms is an essential and the wrong type can have detrimental financial implication on a company. Shippers need to be aware of the status of their shipment and know who is in ownership and who holds responsibility, whilst both sellers and buyers must have insurance on the goods when they are in their ‘legal’ possession. There are many different types of arrangement and we can help advice which is most appropriate for your needs. An option such as EXW (EX-Works), which places greater responsibility on the buyer might be a good option for some whilst FCA (Free Carrier) where the seller has the overall say in choosing the freight forwarder or carrier may be better for others. The ICC changed some fundamental elements of the Incoterms definitions in 2010 so it is important that both buyers and sellers are aware of this change.
