Automated presses do not always provide the most efficient means of production. Where production runs are smaller, a manual press can often deliver the most cost-effective solution. Pneumatic Press

Our range of pneumatic presses are suitable for a number of transforming, joining and assembling operations. With the addition of SCHMIDT® PressControl 600 and optional process monitoring, they become EC type-approved, CE-conformed workstations, and can therefore be used in either single cycle mode or automatic mode. The choice of system depends largely on the application – flexibility, safety and ergonomics should all be considered. A modular design means our pneumatic presses can be finely adjusted to suit virtually all requirements:

Hydro Pneumatic Press

SCHMIDT Hydro Pneumatic presses have a press force capacity ranging from 15 kN right up to 220 kN, with throat depths from 131 mm to 185 mm and working heights from 60 mm to 600 mm. Like our standard pneumatic presses, these high power systems have a modular design which enables them to be finely adjusted to suit your application requirements. With the addition of SCHMIDT® PressControl 600 and optional process monitoring, Hydro Pneumatic presses become EC type-approved, CE-conformed workstations, and can therefore be used in single cycle mode or automatic mode. Short changeover times ensure a high level of flexibility and economic efficiency, while a minimal maintenance requirement ensures maximum productivity. Servo Press

SCHMIDT’s range of servo presses incorporate a PressControl 5000 control unit and ServoPress modules to ensure fast, repeatable production and the most accurate, economical results. Where there is a requirement for high quality, cost-effective product assembly, servo presses provide the answer. These robustly constructed, intelligently designed systems can be made to meet even the most complex requirements, whether as stand-alone machines or within automated production lines.

TorquePress 200

The SCHMIDT® TorquePress 200 is a highly dynamic, extraordinarily powerful system with a 200 kN nominal force and 500 mm stroke. It enables moving and positioning tasks to be carried out quickly and precisely, and, thanks to a hollow shaft design, it requires no intermediate elements such as gears, clutches or belts, which are all subject to high wear at high performance levels. This significantly reduces maintenance requirements. A very high torque capacity enables very high forces without additional mechanical transmissions, and high speed constancy ensures far greater precision than that offered by conventional drives.

Press Control

SCHMIDT has developed two press control units with intuitive user interfaces for improved efficiency and integrated PLC for programming additional inputs/outputs or sensors/actuators.  A touch-screen control panel makes set-up quick and easy, while “Firmware Update” service functions ensure the user has the most up-to-date version of the software available. PressControl 600 and 5000 both feature measurement technology that is insensitive against interferences (EMC), ensuring high measurement security of the entire system. Rack-and-Pinion Presses

If your assembly processes require a press with a long stroke and constant force progression, then our Rack-and-Pinion presses provide the ideal solution.  With a force capacity ranging from 1.6 kN to 22 kN, a throat depth from 65 mm to 200 mm and a working height from 60 mm to 600 mm, these high quality systems are suitable for all manner of applications, including:

Toggle Presses

SCHMIDT toggle presses have a force capacity ranging from 2.5 kN to 22 kN and are available with a round or square ram in order to avoid torsion. Both square and round ram versions benefit from a high force at the end of the stroke and precise adjustment of the press depth via a hardened lower stop. Round ram toggle presses feature honed bores and ground rams for a longer service life and precise guidance, while square ram toggle presses feature fully adjustable, play-free, Teflon-lined gibs. Toggle presses are available with throat depths ranging from 65 mm to 200 mm and working heights from 60 mm to 600 mm. They can be used for a wide variety of applications, including riveting, bordering, crimping, embossing, numbering, stamping, deforming, cutting and assembling.

C-Frame

C-Frame presses offer full accessibility when manually inserting and removing parts, and have a simple height adjustment system with an angular gear to allow easy adaptation for different tools and part heights. A welded press frame offers excellent stability, while an anti-rotational square ram with a fully adjustable, Teflon-lined gib guarantees a high level of precision. C-Frame press have a compact, space-saving design and feature a fixture mounting platen with 3 T-slots and a precision machined bore for tool location. They are available with force capacities ranging from 15 kN to 220 kN, throat depths from 131 mm to 185 mm, and working heights from 100 mm to 600 mm.

Slide Tables

SCHMIDT® Slide tables have been specifically designed to withstand the high forces of presses and to ensure highly precise positioning against an adjustable stop. They provide an economical solution for tall parts and for the placement of parts outside of the danger area. Slide tables, depending on the type, can be mounted in both lateral and longitudinal positions, and may be adapted for various automated processes. Four-column gantries

SCHMIDT® four-column gantries are compatible with all SCHMIDT® presses and can be used in both manual workstations and automated assembly lines. Since no single design can cater for the diverse range of applications for which our presses can be used, each gantry is adapted according to individual requirements. In-house production keeps lead times at an absolute minimum, so for high quality gantries and a fast turnaround on orders, look first to SCHMIDT Technology.

Automation & Complete Systems

SCHMIDT’s PressControl 5000 control unit works with the fieldbus system CANopen, while in integrated systems, data transfer with host control units must be carried out via DeviceNet. The SCHMIDT® CAN DeviceNet gateway provides a data area in which both the press control unit and the host control unit can write and read, thereby allowing an application-specific data exchange. PressControl 5000 offers a wide variety of automation possibilities. Up to 6 NC axes or SCHMIDT® ServoPress modules can be integrated within a single control system.

Rotary Indexing System

Rotary indexing systems can be designed and manufactured according to individual requirements and can accommodate any type of SCHMIDT press. The press base PU10 with mounted ground plate serves as the platform, while the press and rotary indexing table are aligned and pinned together. Additional systems, including a second press, automatic parts feeders and automatic parts ejectors can be integrated within the rotary indexing system as required.
