Rockbit UK Ltd is a leading international manufacturer of drilling rigs, drill bits and other drilling, mining and construction equipment. We also supply pumping and metering systems through our subsidiaries Wildbore Pumps and UK Flowcontrol. 

Our Experience

Rockbit has over 35 years of experience working in the drilling, mining and construction sectors. In that time we have manufactured one of the first mini crawler drill rigs in the UK, established ourselves as the one of the largest underground mining contractors in the North East, operated our own underground coal mine, and provided site investigation, anchoring, diamond drilling, piling, demolition, landfill and directional drilling services to clients worldwide. 

This experience and expertise, gained over the course of four decades, has earned Rockbit an international reputation and has led to contracts with major government and private sector organisations worldwide – in recent years we’ve provided drilling and anchoring equipment for the rebuilding of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, drilling and grouting equipment for the Mosul Dam in Iraq, and unique anchors for stabilisation works at Westminster Cathedral, London. 

Design Consultancy

As well as designing, manufacturing and supplying a range of standard “off-the-shelf” equipment, we provide expert consultancy services and offer bespoke solutions to meet specific industry and application requirements.  

We have our own in-house design and development team which works closely with clients to determine their needs and to develop custom solutions that address the challenges of each application. This innovative approach has resulted in the filing of numerous Patents & Registered Designs.

Rotary Drilling Equipment

Rockbit UK offers a complete range of rotary drilling equipment to cover most applications. This includes drill rods and casings, drive heads, shoes and adapters, core barrels, collars, swivels, stabilisers and DTH hammers. Drilling Rigs

Rockbit acts as a UK agent for a number of international companies, including Italian drilling rig manufacturers Massenza fu Giuseppe and Pagani Geotechnical. Massenza specialise in the design of drilling rigs for geotechnical, water well, geothermal, site investigation and coal bed methane applications; they are recognised throughout the world as a market leader and industry frontrunner. Pagani are manufacturers of drilling equipment for in-situ testing and investigation – their range of penetrometers are used across the globe for environmental research and geophysical analysis.

Repairs

Rockbit UK offers a comprehensive repair and refurbishment service for all kinds of drilling equipment. Procedures typically carried out at our repair facility include:

Bespoke Engineering

Experience across multiple disciplines enables Rockbit to offer a bespoke design and manufacturing service for clients requiring unique solutions to their specific drilling problems. Our design engineers work closely with you to first understand your needs and then develop custom equipment that addresses the particular requirements of the drilling task or project. In recent years we’ve provided specialist drilling equipment for reconstruction work in New Orleans, patented anchor systems for restoration works at Westminster cathedral, and trailer-mounted work over rigs for the Mosul Dam in Iraq. Wildbore Pumps

Through its subsidiary Wildbore Pumps, Rockbit UK is able to offer a range of water, mist and mud pumps which are suitable for most drilling applications. One of our most popular products is the Wildbore C1200, a diesel powered mud/water flush pump with a bunded fuel tank and remote operation.
