Raille spark detection systems prevent fires and explosions in dust extraction filters.

Spark detectors react to ignition sources passing through a dust extraction duct, activating a high speed extinguishing system to prevent a fire or explosion in the filter.  Similarly, spark detection and extinguishing is used to prevent fires spreading through a bulk handling conveyor.

Spark detectors are supplemented by flame, ember, heat and gas detectors for early detection of fires inside process machinery such as dryers, shredders, granulators, mills and presses.  Depending on the process, extinguishing is by water curtain, water mist, foam and CO2 extinguishing systems.  High speed isolation gates are also available.
