Products

A family run business, CDK was formed in 2007 to provide PTFE Seals, Spring Energised Seals, rubber mouldings and hydraulic seals across a range of industries. In the last few years our business has gone from strength to strength and in 2012 we moved to larger premises so we could continue to grow.

When we started we primarily supplied to the cosmetics and food industry but since then we have developed into other areas, however the food and beverage industry remains an area of expertise for us. Our team is extremely experienced and we have over 20 years’ experience in the PTFE seals and rubber mouldings area.

We only used FDA approved materials in our products, which is especially important in the food and beverage industry where we have full traceability from our suppliers, right back to the powder used in the blending of the tubes and rods.

We have a huge choice of materials available that include virgin and modified PTFE Seals, PEEK, H-Ecopur, Polyurethane, Engineering Composite Material (Tufcot), Nitrile and EPDM.

We work closely with our customers to help them reduce costs by supplying them with top of the range seal kits at low prices which we can supply on an ‘as and when basis’. We can also offer next day delivery on critical items that will help cut the down time should a fault occur.

PTFE Seals

Seals must perform a much more demanding role in hydraulic applications as they perform several challenging tasks. Firstly seals must prevent fluid leaking from the cylinder as well as being able to withstand high pressures, extreme pressures and transverse forces within the cylinder. Several types of specialist seal are used in hydraulic systems and these include rod seals, wear rings and scarpers or wipers, each perform a unique task to ensure that the seal works to the optimum level. The range of seals on offer at CDK offer superb leakage control and come in a compact form, provide low friction and are easy to install.

Spring Energised Seals

Spring Energised seals are used in wide variety of applications and offer numerous advantages for any industry that uses hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Mainly used in dynamic applications, they are single acting seals and are often chosen when there is the need for a higher resistance chemical media, when high temperatures will be used or in cases of where there is the requirement for good extrusion and compression. CDK stock standard size Spring Energised seals in 2 mm up to 2500 mm (8' 2") in diameter and we can also produce intermediate sizes, imperial sizes or special geometries as a special customer order.

Hydraulic Seals

At CDK we understand how frustrating it can be when equipment breaks down, which is why we provide a kitting service that has been designed for hydraulic cylinder manufacturers and repairers. We will spec the required seals and then produce a bespoke seal kit that is tailored to the customer’s needs, we hold a large stock of items to reduce the turnaround time. As we deal with all of the major seal manufacturers there is no need for your purchasing department to locate the required seal, which also speeds up despatch and delivery times.

Rubber Mouldings

At CDK we can use a drawing or a sample to create your rubber moulding from and can produce batch sizes from 10 up to 100,000. Our rubber mouldings range includes simple T-section seals to complicated reinforced pump diaphragms that we manufacture from FDA approved blue EPDM and come with a matching valve seat.  We also use other materials such as Nitrile, Silicone, Foam and Viton, all of which conform the FDA.

Mechanical Seals

No matter what kind of pump you need a replacement seal for, CDK has a solution, we have an extensive range of stock that includes water pump seals for use in domestic and municipal swimming pools, spa pools, shower pumps, central heating systems, irrigation and light fluid duties. Our seals provide a cost effective, reliable solution to all of your commercial, domestic and industrial water needs. Our elastomers and superior seal face materials have been designed in house using the knowledge we have gained from over 20 years in the industry and are reliable and offer a long life span and high performance.

O Rings & Box Kits

O rings are one the most frequently used and vital elements in machine design, simple, precise and useful, O rings come in a range of metric and inch standard sizes. The size is determined by the inside diameter and the thickness which is the cross section diameter. At CDK we also have useful customised sealing kits that contain both non seal components and standard selections. We can provide these O ring selection boxes for certain specialist industries such as plumbing that cover the popular metric and imperial sizes. We can also supply bonded seals as BSP and other popular metric sizes in a box.

Material Selection

When selecting a seal material it is important to consider a number of factors, some of which can often be overlooked. Apart from just being a tight, a seal must have other traits, which will vary depending on the application. The material that the seal is made from will need to be compatible with the both the fluid and the mating surface being used. The materials must be able to work at both low and high temperatures and for dynamic seals it is also vital that there is a good level of water resistance. The seal material should not cause any abrasion to the mating surface. Furthermore the seal must offer good extrusion resistance if being used with high temperatures and high pressures. It is also important to consider the friction levels and to ensure that the seal material has a low coefficient friction as well as making sure there is no stickslip so that the material runs smoothly and has accurate positioning. Finally age is also a consideration, especially if the seal will remain inactive for long periods of time.

Food Industry

At CDK we have over 2,000 material compounds on offer that can be formed into seals, bearings, and custom shapes which can then be used in static, dynamic, reciprocating, oscillating, and rotary applications. We are aware that in the food industry the expectations on equipment are always rising and it is with that in mind that we produced a wide range of elastomer and thermoplastic products that offer both superb chemical and thermal resistance. CDK work alongside their customers to ensure that the products we provide have the maximum service life and reduced downtime.

Quality Control

We are proud of our high level of quality and the exceptional standards of our products. We only use the finest, FDA approved materials in our seals which ensures that our customers are only receiving the best products. In 2010 we were thrilled to be award the ISO 9001 accreditation certificate, further cementing our commitment to customer care and quality products.
