Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 30 May 2019 for the following reason: Please note the original ITT has been discontinued due to an error in the questionnaire.

Please note that this opportunity has been reissued and the access code for this opportunity is 68696GZ235

Please note if you have any issues with the access code please contact the Delta Helpdesk on 0845 270 7050(Barra Head Lighthouse is situated on the southernmost island in the Outer Hebrides, the Island of Berneray, at the southern entrance to the Minch. The light is at a position of 56° 47.1' North, 07° 39.2' West.

The primary means of access to Barra Head Lighthouse is by helicopter, which is a 45 minute flight from NLB Oban, or 20 minutes flying from Benbecula Airport. There is a boat landing on the island although it is in poor condition and its location makes it extremely exposed to the Atlantic swell and strong tidal stream. It cannot therefore be relied upon for safe access and NLB helicopter will be used as the sole form of access throughout the project. The light is accessed by helicopter, with a designated landing area to the centre of the island.

Site Visit - A site visit is scheduled for Thursday 6 June 2019. Attendees will meet at Oban Depot at 08:00 hours for the helicopter. Tenderers wishing to attend the site visit must communicate this via the Delta eSourcing Portal, Messaging Facility no later than 14:00hrs Tuesday 4th of June 2019.

Tenderers to provide the name, contact mobile number and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and Compressed Air - Emergency Breathing System Training (CA-EBS) certificates of the representative attending.

Please note that due to the use of the helicopter to access the site, the 6th of June 2019 is the only available date for the site visit. Unfortunately if you cannot attend the site visit we will not be able to accept your tender, as this is a critical aspect of the evaluation process due to the nature of the works and the site and is weighted as a Pass/Fail within the evaluation criteria.
