Description

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS North Midland (Staffordshire & Shropshire) are carrying out a market engagement exercise for the forthcoming procurement exercise “NHS England North Midlands - APMS Middleport Surgery, Stoke on Trent”. This Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contract has an anticipated start date of 1st April 2016. The Service Specification will be fully developed following patient engagement and the successful provider will need to demonstrate that they can deliver service(s) of a continuously high-quality and will be responsive to the needs of the local population. The Provider will be assessed on an on-going basis to ensure they deliver the quality required. The services must be provided by GPs and Nurses and the provider will be expected to deliver:

a) High quality Primary Medical Services responsive to the needs of the local population.

b) Promotion of healthy living with the aim of tackling the underlying causes of ill health.

c) Essential services.

d) All additional services.

e) All Enhanced Services commissioned by NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the local council.

f) Increased access.

g) Proactive model of care for nursing and residential homes including Scotia Heights which provides residential care for both permanent and respite residents who are young adults and have physical disabilities and mental health problems.

Please note this is purely a market assessment exercise to gather facts on potential providers. The subsequent procurement will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when published. The responses received during the market analysis exercise will not be taken into account in any future evaluation process as part of the formal procurement process.

As part of this market engagement exercise a short questionnaire where possible is requested to be completed by 14th September 2015.
