Description

To conduct a high quality, methodologically robust research study to inform how Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group can best commission primary and community health services to meet the mental health needs of LGBT people and to promote and support appropriate and timely mental health service uptake.

The research will involve a literature review and a mixed methods approach to better understand the population, citizen story and stakeholder perspective.

The research will include exploring experiences of services with a range of adults including young adults (16+) who may also have had recent experience of children's mental health services or experienced particular difficulties during their transition to adulthood, those of working age, and older people. We are also interested in understanding people's experiences of being treated as individuals i.e. considering their sexual orientation or gender identity at the same time as their religion or ethnicity for example.
