At our facility in Buxton we have a number of centerless grinders which allow us to grind around solid round bars or tubes. State-of-the-art grinding and gauging facilities enable us to achieve the closest tolerances on a wide variety of components. Plain cylindrical grinding is a process employed to grind the outside surfaces of a cylindrical component mounted between fixed or rotating centres. The choice of grinding media and coolant depends on the material which is to be ground. To achieve flat, parallel and square surfaces on critical components we use a variety of high precision, horizontal reciprocating surface grinders. These work well with all materials and are capable of achieving the closest tolerances. The machines are equipped with magnetic tables for holding ferrous parts; non-ferrous parts require special work-holding arrangements.
