Welding Units (UK) Ltd, UK's leading manufacturer of high pressure flanges.
We combine more than 30 years experience and a fully CNC equipped machine shop to offer an unparalleled level of quality and customer service.
We specialise in the manufacture of high pressure and none standard design flange connector products.
The product portfolio we manufacture cover the following primary categories:
a) High pressure flanges (class 600lb & above) to ANSI B16.5 & MSS
SP-44 - types WN's, Swivel flanges, Blinds plus orifice flanges.
Additionally standard and 'H' type long weld neck, with profiled ends if required.
We also supply larger diameter flanges (typically 26in to 40in to MSS SP 44 / API 605) ) in the lower pressure classes of 150 / 300lb in carbon steel materials.
Note: We DO NOT trade in the smaller sizes in class 150 / 300lb (as such are generally widely available from stockists worldwide), nor would we be price competitive for the 'bulk volume' type flange supply business.
b) API 6A /17D flanges (extensively used in sub-sea Oil & Gas sector).
We hold API licence API 6A -0114 - authorising us to manufacture and use the official API 'monogram', indicating our ability to manufacture such products fully to the API specifications / conditions.
c) We are the sole European licensee manufacturer for Taper-Lok compact flange connectors, which are well recognised high integrity connectors, used widely in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries worldwide. We here at WU have extensive experience of supplying such products to the highly demanding offshore sectors for use on platforms, riser systems and sub-sea pipelines.
d) Pipeline bulkheads (multi pipe supporting and pipe-in-pipe types) and buckle prevention arrestors.
e) Anchor flanges for both horizontal axial movement and hanger flanges for riser pipes etc.
f) Blocks, tees and elbows used for pipework connections.
Supplying both studded type and butt weld end types machined from solid forging blocks.
g) We have an in-house design capability to provide both CAD design drawings supported by both calculation based design validation (ASME VIII / PD5500 rules based) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
The main aspects for which we are well reknown worldwide are:
i) An ability to supply many products on short delivery lead times (much of the time using our extensive stock of raw material).
ii) Capability to develop designs to suit none standard conditions.
iii) Ability to manufacture & supply to project specification requirements.
