Founded in 1901, Webasto have been providers of heating, cooling, ventilation and roof solutions for the automotive industry for more than 75 years. We are among the 100 largest suppliers in the global automotive industry and the top 15 suppliers in Germany, with more than 50 locations worldwide, including over 30 production sites. We specialise in developing and producing heating, cooling and ventilation systems for passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as complete convertible and roof systems. We can also provide parking heaters and sunroofs suitable for retrofitting.

Since our formation, Webasto have expanded beyond solely catering for passenger and commercial vehicles; today providing solutions for recreational, marine and special vehicles as well. Our expertise in automotive solutions has been put to use developing systems for other markets, such as movable roof systems for marine applications.

Webasto are also leaders in material innovations. We set up our own plastic competence centre in 2003 and have been producing innovative polycarbonate roof elements there since 2007. We then underlined our determination to establish ourselves as leaders in this field when we commissioned the second production line for polycarbonate components in late 2009. Use of materials such as polycarbonate is becoming more important in the drive for more lightweight automotive designs that could reduce vehicles' fuel consumption.

Heating systems (Buses)

Our range of air and water heaters offer a variety of functions and heat capacities, and we also offer pre-assembled water stations, water pumps and accessories with global service.

Air based systems are very fast and efficient, simply heating the air immediately before it is sent into the interior of the vehicle. The Webasto Air Top heaters are simple, compact and suitable for quick, economical heating of mini and midibuses.

Water heaters are twice as economical, heating up the vehicle's cooling water circuit and providing a preheated interior and engine, which in turn makes the engine start more easily, use less fuel and emit fewer pollutants.

Air-Conditioning Systems (Buses)

Our extensive portfolio of products includes a range of air conditioning solutions for a variety of applications. These include everything from rooftop systems to integrated air-conditioning systems, and we also have a range of accessories such as front boxes and convectors.

Webasto compressor cooling systems have compact designs that make them easy and economical to install, and their air conditioning capabilities can bring the benefits of enhanced concentration and increased safety. Our range includes rooftop units that have cooling capacities from 3.5 kW to 18.0 kW, and integrated units with capacities from 4.0 kW to 16.0 kW.

Roof Solutions (Buses)

If you need optimal ventilation, air distribution and comfort for your vehicle, consider our range of roof hatches, which has a solution for every requirement and vehicle type. Our roof hatches come with servicing-friendly electric motors in the frame and are compatible with the existing Bus Top family of products. Other benefits include a 40% weight reduction compared to previous models, optimal ventilation, simple installation and servicing, optional rail sensors and three interior trim options.

Heating solutions (Commercial vehicles)

At Webasto, we develop and produce both air and water based parking heaters, to provide a range of functionalities and capacities. These can provide comfortable working environments and optimum cargo temperatures even in extreme outdoor temperatures.

Air heaters heat drivers' cabs and interiors quickly and economically by heating air directly in the heater and directing it into the cabin. Our range of air heaters starts with models that have an output range of 0.9 to 22 kW.

Water heaters are integrated into the engine's coolant circuit and help get the engine to operating temperature before it is even running. This can lower fuel consumption and in turn, costs. Of course, water heaters also assure that the cab is pleasantly pre-heated. Our range of water heaters has models starting with output ranges of 2.2 to 35 kW.

Air-Conditioning for Vehicles

Air-conditioning systems prevent high interior temperatures and poor air quality, which can lower drivers' concentration and increase the risk of them falling asleep at the wheel. Air-conditioning systems can reduce this risk and increase safety, and come in either roof-mounted or integrated systems.

Our rooftop air-conditioning solutions are efficient and compact, and we can provide customised options that are simple to retrofit. Integrated air-conditioning units can be fitted under the dashboard or the roof or installed in the vehicle ceiling, and are equipped with high-efficiency fans and blowers to deliver constant airflow. We also have a range of accessories and kits, including rooftop and under-chassis condensers, air vents and ducts, control units and installation kits.

Transport Refrigeration Systems

For ensuring a cool cargo space, our transportation cooling systems are a reliable and efficient solution. They are tailored to the individual vehicle, meaning that they generate constant cold in an even distribution. These systems can be battery-operated, integrated modular or direct drive, and have automatic temperature control. This assures that perishable goods can be transported at the right temperature and moisture levels, in turn providing safety and reliability for the consumer.

Our transport refrigeration systems are suitable for cargo spaces up to 18m³ in size.

Heating Solutions (Marine)

The weather changes more quickly at sea than anywhere else, which is why we provide boat heating solutions to maintain summer temperatures below deck and extend your boating season into the winter. Our innovative high-quality air and water heaters provide reliable and economical solutions, and can be fitted in boats with specific marine installation kits.

For a compact and easy to retrofit solution, our air heaters are perfect, and can deliver warm air through the boat very quickly via an air ducting system. Our water heaters are very effective at providing evenly distributed warmth, and can be connected to domestic water boilers and A/C chiller systems as part of a complete climate solution.

Cooling Solutions (Marine)

Just as the sea can get cold quickly, being exposed to the sun can rapidly heat up your boat. A Webasto air-conditioning system can allow you to enjoy the sun outside and keep cool below deck. Our extensive range of cooling solutions is bound to include something to suit your boat or yacht, with cooling capacities ranging from 5,000 BTU/h to 572,000 BTU/h.

For boats with up to three cabins, self-contained cooling units are the most suitable solution, with cabins being equipped with individual units that are tailored to their requirements. Larger boats are more likely to need a centrally chilled water system, which involves a chiller A/C unit (generally installed in the engine room) and individual air handlers in the cabins.

Integrated Solutions (Marine)

Seafarers do not like limitations, which is why we help extend the boating season with our marine complete climate solutions. These provide heating and cooling from a single source and unlimited options for below deck climate comfort, which no supplier other than Webasto provide.

Our BlueComfort system allows total independence from environmental conditions, combining water heating and air conditioning in a compact and cost-effective solution. The BlueComfort system comes in two varieties – Classic and Premium – with the former consisting of a special self-contained unit and water heater, and the latter a chilled water air-conditioner and diesel-operated heater.

Refrigeration Solutions (Marine)

In 2008, Webasto formed an alliance with Indel B – a leading Italian refrigerator manufacturer – to provide increased comfort for the marine industry, calling the venture Indel Webasto Marine.

Indel's Isotherm refrigerators and freezers have been developed through careful research, and are well-established within the marine industry. These marine refrigerators are made to fulfil a variety of criteria; withstanding violent movement, operating noiselessly and consuming minimum battery power. The Indel Webasto Marine range has multiple solutions to provide the best cooling performance, with air or seawater being used for effective heat removal.
