Fire Risk Assessments

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order of 2005 states that all employers ‘must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons are exposed’. Thus it is compulsory for any place of work to be assessed for fire risks by a competent person. Unicorn’s Fire Risk Assessors are fully qualified to conduct a full Fire Risk Assessment on your property and can provide you with comprehensive documentation detailing the problems found and outlining what you can do to minimise risks.

Fire Risk Management

We know that managing your own Fire and Health & Safety needs can be a burden, which is why we offer a professional Fire Risk Management service in which we take care of your obligations and allow you to get on with running your business. We can:

• Undertake and periodically review your Fire Risk Assessment.
• Manage your fire safety arrangements and ensure your log book is up to date.

Public Event Fire Safety

Are you hosting an event but are concerned about whether you comply with UK Health & Safety regulations? Whether it’s an indoor or outdoor event, we’ll ensure you’re fully compliant with all the relevant HSE directives.

Extinguisher Supply and Maintenance

All employers are legally obliged to equip their work places with an appropriate means of fighting fires. Our fire extinguishers are kitemarked to BS EN 3: Part 5 (1996) and come with a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee. PAT Testing

All business owners are required by law to have their portable electrical appliances tested on a routine basis. This is called PAT Testing, and it applies to office equipment such as fax machines, photocopiers, fans, lamps, computers and printers, as well as common kitchen appliances like toasters, fridges and kettles. Our City & Guilds 2377-12 qualified engineers can carry out portable appliance tests at a time to suit you. They utilise the latest testing equipment and provide full test documentation, including an HSE approved Certificate of Testing.

Home-Safe Service

Unicorn’s Home-Safe service is aimed at anyone who wants to improve fire safety in their home.  It includes a home safety risk assessment, installation of state-of-the-art battery-operated or mains-wired smoke detectors, provision of fire extinguishers and fire blankets and instruction in their use.
