Formed in 1995, Tyneside Standards are providers of top class calibration services, covering one-off calibrations and on-site requirements, as well as full quality management services. Within two years of our formation, we achieved UKAS accreditation in the mechanical dimensional area, and we have since achieved accreditations in the electrical, torque, pressure, temperature and mass fields.

Our strategy has always been swift service and high integrity, and we make sure that we are providing our clients with services tailored to their specific requirements. Each year we have grown in stature, through investing in high accuracy machinery, state-of-the-art software, our building, and most importantly, training. Our growth has also hinged on reputation and recommendation, as we ensure that our customer’s calibration costs are kept to a minimum and that we maintain everyday contact with them.

17th Edition Test Kit

Having invested in the servicing and calibration of 17th edition test kits, we are proud to offer a comprehensive 17th edition test equipment calibration service. This includes the instrument of choice for electricians – the installation tester.

Of course, this service is also covered by our UKAS accreditation.

Electrical

Our extensively equipped electrical laboratory is UKAS accredited, and allows us to perform incredibly accurate calibrations for a comprehensive range of instruments. Our initial investment was a Transmille Precision Multi Function Reference Calibrator, but we have since added a variety of precision calibrators to our arsenal, and now have a fully equipped laboratory. This allows our focused staff to perform to exacting standards and provide the best service in the North East.

Most of the calibrations that we undertake in our laboratory can also be performed on the client's premises, and are also covered by our accreditation.

Temperature

We provide enviable temperature calibration services; generating, simulating and performing direct temperature measurements in our laboratory or on our client's premises. On-site calibrations involve our Druck multi-calibrator or Transmille temperature calibration, in addition to other thermocouple simulators and portable temperature calibrators. Typical on-site temperature calibrations may be on temperature indicators, fridges/freezers, chart recorders and process control instrumentation.

Of course, all of our laboratory and on-site temperature calibrations are offered with UKAS accreditation. In addition to our temperature calibration services, we offer temperature mapping facilities for customer equipment and can analyse the performance of the equipment before providing a report.

Dimensional

We have strategically planned our dimensional measurement service to cover most types of dimensional measurements. Whether you need calibration of hand held instruments and gauges, or inspection of components, reverse engineering, pipeline surveys and forensic investigations, we can help.

Our dimensional calibration services include investigate measurements and reverse engineering, pipeline surveys and pipe measurements, optical instrumentation, internal and external thread measuring, and subcontract inspection work.

Mass

Whether mechanical or electrical, in medical applications or industrial sets, Tyneside Standards can provide an on-site calibration and repair service for scales and balances. These calibrations are performed to British Standards, and site calibrations can be undertaken for any weigh scales or balances up to a maximum of 200kg.

Pressure and Vacuum

At Tyneside Standards, we can provide a full range of pressure and vacuum calibrations. We have the UKAS accreditation to calibrate at our laboratory or on customers' premises, so we can perform in situ pressure and process calibrations if necessary. Our facilities allow us to calibrate pressure gauges up to 16000 PSI and vacuum gauges to -1 inch Hg.

Flow

We can provide both on-site and laboratory calibration for air flow meters and anemometers.

Combining Furness Controls' latest flow technology with our specially adapted wind tunnel facility, we can perform calibrations on a range of gas flow meters, leak measurement devices, rotometers and other flow measuring devices. We can provide calibration for air flow meters ranging from 0.021/min to 201/min, with uncertainties of measurement on par with specialist flow laboratories.

Our wind tunnel facilities and highly accurate flow measurement equipment can also be used to perform calibrations on anemometers and air speed indicators up to 30m/s.

Force and Torque

Tyneside Standards can provide a range of force and torque services, including calibration, adjustment and repair of torque wrenches, torque analysers and drivers, and force gauge and load cell calibration.
