TTS Systems is a UK based company specialising in the design and manufacture of web tensions systems primarily for the process and converting industries. Our company was created in 1997 and since then we have developed a first class reputation and an extensive range of products including load cells (transducers) and web tension amplifiers. We have also developed and manufactured a comprehensive range of intelligent web tension control products.

Manufacturing Processes

Hazardous Areas

At TTS Systems we understand the safety concerns in industrial plants where fires and explosions are concerned. We manufacture products that are suitable to be used in hazardous areas. Our load cells can be used within hazardous operations when interfaced with a zener barrier designed specifically for this purpose. TTS Systems can recommend two manufacturers who offer products used many times for these applications; these companies are MTL and Pepperl & Fuchs. TTS Systems will be more than happy to advise on the additional considerations that are needed in the design of a load cell system when coupled to a zener barrier.

High Performance Tension Controller

Our High Performance Tension Controller (HPTC) is a unique package consisting of a graphical configuration interface that provides data logging and diagnostics. The High Performance Tension Controller is a versatile multi-functional device that features a fully programmable PID controller and is programmed via the TTS Windows interface. Our HPTC can be used with load cells and dancers as well as featuring minimal operator involvement; includes 24 volt supply and panel mounting. CRF and CRL Transducer Series

The CRF and CRL transducer series offers high precision tension measurement for web tension applications. This product is typically used in pairs and has been specifically designed to provide maximum versatility across a number of mounting options with special emphasis on retrofit applications. Each transducer is fitted with either a 2201 (size 2) or 2205 (size 3) high quality self-aligning bearing. The forces range from 100 Newtons up to 5000 Newtons per cell. Features include taper lock assembly option, positive mechanical overload and M12 series adjustable connectors fitted. Web Tension Amplifiers

TTS Systems offer a range of web tension load cell amplifiers designed to make commissioning and installation quick and easy. Our amplifiers ensure the integrity of the measuring function through high end components and our products are DIN rail mountable operating from a 24V DC supply. Our extensive range of web tension amplifiers includes our DCA-10 Web Tension Load Cell Amplifier, which features easy calibration and multiple outputs. We also offer the lower cost SCA-10 Web Tension Amplifier and the LCA-3 Web Tension Load Cell Amplifier with integrated display, which features a six digit display.

Electronic Modules

We offer a range of stand-alone modules for a number of different applications. Our modules are designed to make commissioning and installation simple, quick and easy, and the high end components ensure the integrity of the measuring function. Our stand-alone modules include the PID Control Module, PID-10, which is a universal DIN mounted analogue PID module. This module, when combined with our CDM brake control modules proves ideal for use on web tension applications. The PID-10 features four universal voltage or currency inputs used for set points and measured values from dancers or load cells. The PID-10 can also be used to provide speed trim tension control via dancers or load cells.

Flat Bed Load Cells

Our flat bed load cells are designed to be fitted under plummer block bearing housings and can then be rotated for use at all angles. The unique design of these transducers guarantees extremely high overload capabilities. Optional cover and tray arrangement for additional protection in harsh environments can also be purchased. TTS Systems offer a range of flat bed load cells including the Flat Bed in aluminium model and our Flat Bed in stainless steel model. Cartridge Load Cells

All of our cartridge cells feature a twin beam arrangement and each cell is fitted with a full Wheatstone bridge in order to provide measurement accuracy and high stability; displacement is minimal, typically 0.1mm for full scale deflection. The overload and transient protection is achieved mechanically and this means maximum protection for each cell. Most arrangements allow an M12 or Amphenol connector to be fitted and the M12 socket can be adjusted to prevent fouling by the plug. We offer a comprehensive range of cartridge load cells including CRF or CL, CRF or CRL with flange mount, CRF or CRL with plummer block mount, CRB hub style load cell, CRCI cantilever style cartridge cell and the CRB boss style cartridge cell.
