Products

Welcome to Ti-Tek (UK) Ltd, your premium stockist and supplier of Titanium raw materials. Ti-Tek supplies UK industry with Titanium in a wide range of forms and grades. At our facilities in the West Midlands, we hold a large stock of Titanium coils, bars, sheets, plates and tubes, providing a number of sectors with high quality materials for their manufacturing processes. Our materials are widely used in the demanding Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Medical, Motor Sport, and Aerospace industries, while other sectors are also realising the benefits of Titanium Alloy. Indeed, we now supply Titanium to a whole host of industries, including agriculture and farming, construction, and manufacturing.

To ensure quality, Ti-Tek sources all of its material from approved mills with full traceability. We are also ISO 9001 certified, meaning our products are subject to rigorous quality control. AS9120 Aerospace certification is also soon to be attained. Our convenient location near the M6 allows access to a UK-wide distribution network: Titanium can be delivered to you quickly and cost-effectively.

So why are some of the most demanding industries using Titanium? There are a number of good reasons. Firstly, low molecular density means Titanium alloys offer superior strength-to-weight ratios when compared with other metals. Pure titanium is corrosion resistant, has very good oxidation capabilities, and also has a very high melting point, making it perfect for heat transfer applications.

If you could do with a material that benefits from all of these properties, give Ti-Tek a call. We've got coils, bars, tubes, sheets and plates in a multitude of grades and sizes. Below is just a small selection of what we have to offer. More materials and information can be found by visiting the Ti-Tek website directly, or of course by giving us a call. Our specialists are on hand to help you find the right grade for your application.

Titanium Coils

We have a large stock of Grade 1 ASTM B 265 – EN10204 3.1.B Titanium Alloys in a number of sizes, including:

0.5 x 1010mm
0.5 x 1260mm
0.6 x 1010mm
0.6 x 1260mm
0.7 x 1260mm
1.0 x 1000mm
1.5 x 1250mm

If you should require a non-standard length, just give Ti-Tek a call. We’ve got the facilities to cut to the exact length you need. We can also cover your coils with plastic coating if you should require.

Titanium Sheets and Plates

Ti-Tek supplies Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 5 (Ti 6AL/4V) Titanium sheets and plates. Grade 1 ASTM B 265 + F67 titanium comes in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 3.0mm, with respective weights of between 2.26kg per sq metre and 13.53kg per sq metre. Grade 2 ASTM B 265 + F67 titanium comes in thicknesses of 2.0mm, right up to 60.00mm. This weighs between 9.02kg per sq metre at 2.0mm thick, and 270.6 kg per sq metre at 60.0mm thick.

To view our full list of thicknesses and corresponding weights, please follow the link directly to the Ti-Tek website. Grade 5 titanium is available according to your specifications.

Titanium Bars

Our extensive stock of titanium materials includes Grade 2, Grade 5 (Ti 6AL/4V and Eli), and Grade 7 titanium bars. Grade 2 B 348 + F67 measures between 6.0mm and 200mm diameter and weighs between 0.127kg and 141.5kg per sq metre accordingly. Grade 5 AMS 4928 measures between 4.0mm and 200.0mm diameter and weighs between 0.057kg and 138.7kg per sq metre. Grade 7 ASTM B 348 titanium bars are available from 20.0mm to 80.0mm in diameter, weighing between 1.41kg and 22.66kg per sq metre.

Grades of Titanium – Grades 1-4

To help you decide which Grade of Titanium is best suited for your needs, here's a little information on each. Grades 1-4 are pure titanium, while the rest are all alloys of some kind.

Pure titanium is desired for its high resistance to corrosion – alloys are valued for their high strength-to-weight ratio.

Grade 1 titanium is relatively low strength and high ducility; it's often used for plate heat exchangers.

Grade 2 is the most common pure grade, since it offers the best combination of strength, ducility and weldability - It's ideal for piping systems.

Grade 3 is high in strength, and used for matrix plates in shell and tube heat exchangers.

Grades of Titanium – Grades 5-12

Grade 5 titanium alloy is the most commonly used of its kind. It is exceptionally strong and highly heat resistant, making it perfect for the aerospace and subsea industries.

Grade 7 offers outstanding corrosion resistance in reducing and oxiding environments – it's therefore quite commonplace in the chemical industry.

Grade 9 titanium alloy combines excellent strength with great corrosion resistance – it is commonly used in hydraulic pumping or subsea applications.

Grade 11 is also used in the chemical industry, but is more suitable for deep drawing.

Lastly, we have Grade 12 titanium. This offers an even greater heat resistance than pure titanium. It is used in the chemical industry, as well as for shell and tube heat exchangers.

Titanium Qualities

The use of Titanium is becoming increasingly commonplace in a number of important industries, and it's all down to the numerous advantages it holds over more conventional metals. As mentioned above, pure titanium is exceptionally corrosion resistant, while alloys offer superior strength-to-weight ratios. Titanium also benefits from a high heat resistance and a very high melting point, which makes it ideal for heat transfer applications. Furthermore, It has very good oxidation capabilities, low elasticity, and low thermal expansion coefficient.

Machining and Cutting of Titanium

Despite its reputation, Titanium is NOT difficult to machine. In fact, it can be undertaken by any workshop that is professional and committed. On the Ti-Tek website, you can find more information on turning, milling, boring, drilling, broaching, tapping, toothing, grinding, lapping and cutting. These processes are no more difficult than if one were working with stainless steel.

ASTM Standards

Our materials are delivered in accordance with the ASTM Standard (American Society for Testing and Materials). This covers the mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical requirements of the four grades of pure titanium used for the manufacture of surgical implants. ASTM standards are accepted and used in R&D, product testing, quality systems and commercial transactions throughout the globe.

If you would like to find out more about ASTM standards, please follow the link to our website.

Our Services

To complement an already fantastic service, Ti-Tek also takes on sawing, shearing, water jet cutting and machining of parts. Whatever the specification, we'll have a look at your designs and drawings and machine or cut exactly as needed. We also offer technical services which support engineers, designers and buyers with information on the cost, availability, fabrication and application of titanium and its alloys.
