Matchbox Filters

Although originally designed as budget filters for use where money and space were limited, these filters have been modified and improved to an extent that they can now be used in a wide range of applications and with various mountings, terminals and cases. Despite this, matchbox filters from Suppression Devices retain their economic appeal. 

Customers can choose from various types of terminal, including 2.2mm tabs, 6.3mm tabs, PCB mounts, flying leads or any variation of these methods.

General Purpose Filters

Our general purpose filters offer adequate attenuation for the suppression and protection of most machines. They are available in current ratings up to 1000 amps (three phase, four lines), and are supplied in cases fabricated from tin-dipped or tin-plated steel, which naturally makes them quite rugged and hardwearing. As with our matchbox filters, terminals can be made to suit individual requirements - though as standard they come with colour coded, nickel or tin-plated brass screw terminals. Printed Circuit Filters

Suppression Devices are now able to design a general purpose open filter assembled on a PCB, providing a low cost EMC solution for a variety of applications. These can have current ratings up to 20 amps. 

Printed circuit filters are generally designed in close cooperation with the customer – you tell us what’s required and we’ll find a suitable solution. 

Cost savings with these types of filter are gained in production: the higher the volume, the lower the unit cost. However, we are prepared to supply in low quantities if required.

Screened Room Filters

Over the last few years, Suppression Devices has been working alongside a leading screened room designer and manufacturer to develop a series of 100dB plus filters which provide a compact and cost-effective solution to a number of high performance applications. These are built more solidly than our general purpose products (being heavily tin plated), and they incorporate individually shielded input and output spreader or terminal enclosures. Our screened room filters are supplied in a dark blue colour, but the final finish can vary according to your specific colour requirements. They are available in current ratings up to 250 amps, with one, two, three or four lines.

Suppression Devices has been designing and manufacturing RF-EMC filters for more than 30 years, which means we have the experience and the know-how to produce bespoke components to almost any specification.
