Autosport Sensors

Here at StrainSense Limited we supply a range of sensors designed to meet most motorsport applications including pressure, vibration, acceleration, position and force. Examples of our range include:

• 4202 Dual Axis Accelerator: used for Formula 1, NASCAR, IRL, Test and Measurement. It features 8-16 Vdc excitation, measures static and dynamic acceleration and operates temperatures from -40 to 125°C.
• EPRB-1/ EPRB-2/ EPRB-3: ultra miniature pressure transducers made from 100% stainless steel welded construction with amplified output designed for sever environments where minimum size and weight are required.
• FS-IR Infrared temperature sensor: high accuracy non-contact temperature sensors for measuring brake temperatures to 200c
• PS-C95P: Small diameter designed for autosport.
• TS-NTC1 Fluid temperature sensor: an accurate small thermistor for fluid temperature measurement.

Pressure Sensors

Our ranges of pressure sensors are suitable for different application types. Examples of the range include:

• Calibration standards: Very high accuracy pressure sensors for calibration of production systems and for reference Transfer Standards
• Depth Sensors: For high accuracy depth measurement for process and oceanographic applications. Depths to 10,000m
• Industrial: High stability rugged stainless steel amplified transmitters for use with liquids and gases. Built-in overload prevents damage due to over-pressure or pressure spikes without the use of a snubbe.

Strain Gauges

At Strainsense we are frequently developing our product range to ensure that we continue to offer our customers a fantastic range of accurate and reliable products. Our strain gauges and accessories are suitable for all types of applications. We offer a full installation service for our high temperature strain gauges which are designed to cover temperatures from 200C to 1350c. Torque Transducers

We supply three primary ranges of torque transducers. Our rotating/contactless transducers allow measurements from 0.03Nm to 20,000Nm. Our range of rotating/slipring transducers allows measurements between 1Nm to 5,000Nm and our range of static torque products can provide static torque sensors of up to 20,000Nm. Transducers/Load Cells

Transducers come in many shapes and sizes and are used for many different applications. Our transducers/ load cells are grouped into the following categories:

• Force: A variety of sensors for force sensing of many different configurations
• Miniature Load Cells: A range of low cost OEM load cells and test and measurement cells
• Overload Sensing: A range of sensors used to prevent damage of instability in a weighing or force monitoring application
• Rope Tension: A range of transducers to measure the tension in a wire/rope for lifting, haulier purposes
• Weighing: A wide range of loadcells in several configurations to cover capacities from 300g to 500te. Accuracies up to 6000d (OIML) available.

Acceleration & Vibration

We supply a wide range of sensors for acceleration and vibration covering 0-6,000g with mV and amplified outputs. Our ranges include:

• AC Accelerometers: Ranges of piezo-electric accelerometers for harsh applications and for when a 'basic' high output sensor is required for customer installation
• Autosport Sensors: Vibration sensors and accelerometers with robust packaging and filtering to suit the environment. Small packages for single, dual and triple axis measurements
• DC Accelerometers: Piezoresistive Plug and Play DC accelerometers with high over-range protection
• Gyros & Inertial Accelerometers: Sensors for high accuracy navigational systems

Position/Tilt

Our ranges of position/tilt sensors use the variable differential transformer principal for measuring linear and rotary displacement. Examples of our ranges include: 

• Component level: Anisotropic Magneto Resistive or AMR sensors for robust non-contact measurement of changes in the angle of the magnetic field as seen by the sensor
• LVDT Linear Sensors: The Schqevitz range of LVDTs for high accuracy position and displacement measurements. Most designs in this range are non-contact devices offering no friction or hysteresis
• LVDT/RVDT Instrumentation: Both OEM and end-user orientated instrumentation amplifiers and read-out devices designed to be compatible with Schaevitz linear and rotary AC inductive sensors
• Linear Potentioments: 12.5 – 250mm stroke robust position sensors using linearised conductive plastic elements
• RVDT Rotary Sensors: For high accuracy rotary measurement. Frictionless and hysteresis free

Sensy

Belgian manufacturer, SENSY, supplies various load cells, torquemeters and standard force transducers for use in many industrial applications such as in the aerospace industry, for crane and laboratory research and more. Load cells have capacities ranging from 10 N (1 Kg) to 30 MN (3,000 tons) and available with accuracies of up to 0.01% (digital load cell). Sensy has more than 20 years of experience within the industry and manufactures first class products to the highest of standards. Sensy is also able to design and manufacture new solutions when standard components on the market are not suitable or available.

Pondus Instruments AB

Pondus Instruments AB is a Swedish company specialising in the development of high quality instrumental products for industrial purposes. Examples include: the PT60 pressure transmitter that has all process connections directly connected to it without pressure intermedia, a wide range of connections to fit all applications and withstands temperatures up to 200 degrees celcius, the LT60 submersible measuring probe with 2-sensor technique. The absolute pressure sensor in the electronic box compensates for variations in the atmospheric pressure. Pondus Instruments AB also supplies the IXP50 - transforming 4-20 mA signal to a pneumatic analogue pressure. Pondus Instruments AB also works with customers to develop specific solutions when standard items are not available or suited to the customers' requirements.

Norwegian company, Presens, specialises in the design and manufacture of sensor systems. These high accuracy pressure, temperature and flow measurements are designed for use in some of the world's harshest environments. Hohner Automation Ltd

UK based, Hohner Automation Ltd, designs and manufactures automation solutions for offshore and gas industries of the North Sea. ATEX, UL and IECEx certifications have led the company to expand and operate from various offices across the world: the Hohner Corp based in Canada focuses on the North American market and Devicenet solutions for automation and the Brazilian company, Hohner Electronica Ltda, focuses on the South American market and is the newest venture of the company. Gantner Instruments

Gantner Instruments was founded by Wilhelm Gantner in 1982 and provides measurement and test automation equipment to various industries across the world. Equipment is used for component testing, engine testing, process monitoring and long-term monitoring. High speed data acquisition for strain gauges, thermocouples, LVDTs etc are available in DIN rail or rack mounting versions.
