Selectronix specialises in waterproof connector systems and enclosures, but our range also encompasses many low-cost, non-waterproof components, connectors, enclosures and assemblies. It means we can provide cost-effective solutions for a wide variety of applications. Strong business partnerships with key industry suppliers such as Amphenol LTW, Hammond, Foxconn, Pheonix Contact, Hummel and Souriau have enabled us to offer a range of products for high speed technologies like SATA, SAS, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, Ethernet, SCSI and more.
 
Established in 1979, Selectronix has more than 30 years experience in the manufacture and supply of specialist cable assemblies. In 2002, we acquired Onboard Electronics, a leading manufacturer of bespoke enclosures. With this acquisition, we were able to provide our customers with a large choice of waterproof, die cast and plastic ABS enclosures in a range of sizes and styles.

Waterproof USB

LTWUx series waterproof USB cables are IP67 rated, ensuring complete protection against the ingress of dust, dirt and water. They are ideal for industrial environments where a secure connection is imperative. We are able to offer a range of USB waterproof cable assemblies in lengths to suit your particular device/application. Waterproof RJ45

RJ45 connectors are amongst the fastest and most commonly used Ethernet and electronics communication devices. We offer a range of RJ45 connectors with IP67 and IP68 ratings, allowing you to maintain a watertight seal on electronics enclosures without compromising connectivity and flexibility when connecting components and computers. This includes both circular and square fit RJ45 connectors, the latter of which can be fixed directly to the enclosure or bulkhead. Die Cast Aluminium Enclosure

Die cast aluminium enclosures offer rugged, reliable component protection and can withstand some of the harshest outdoor environments. They are easily milled and modified, making them ideal for custom electronic installations with various external connections and internal components. Die cast aluminium enclosures are available unsealed or sealed to IP66 standards for waterproof protection. We also offer “Stomp Box” aluminium enclosures which are supplied pre-finished and ready for labelling in a choice of powder coated colours.

Extruded Aluminium Enclosure

We are also able to offer a full range of sealed and unsealed extruded aluminium enclosures for the protection of custom electronic assemblies. These are carefully designed to enable quick and easy mounting of PCBs, and can be supplied with flanged or plain end caps in die cast aluminium or plastic. Sealed enclosures are designed to meet IP65 standards, ensuring a high level protection against dust, dirt and water. Both standard and waterproof enclosures feature removable belly plates for easy adjustment, installation and maintenance, as well as flat top surfaces ideal for connectors, displays, button pads, membrane keyboards and other electronic components.

MXM Connector

MXM connectors (mobile PCI express modules) are suitable for upgradeable graphics in notebook PC, portable and embedded systems. The socket has 230 positions, SMI, 0.5mm pitch, is ROHS compatible, UL 94V-0 rated and comes with a range of optional stack heights. They are provided in tape and reel packaging for automatic pick and place. As well as 16-lane PCI express, the MXM connector can simultaneously handle all electrical signals for LVDS, SDTV, VGA, HDTV and two independent DVI outputs. RJ45 Connectors

Selectronix supplies a range of standard RJ45 connectors from Foxconn, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electronic components. RJ45 connectors feature eight pins to which cable wire strands interface electrically. The range covers a number of Ethernet network applications. 9 Way D Filter Assemblies

9-way D filter assemblies incorporate EMISTOP filter connectors for increased attenuation across the frequency range, moving you closer to EMC compliance. They use 360° braid termination and die-cast hoods – a perfect combination for the very best results. If only low to medium levels of protection are required, EMISTOP cables can be supplied with ferrite-only connectors (rather than the ferrite and capacitor). These offer attenuation levels 6-10dB higher than non-filtered cables.

Membrane Vents for enclosures

Selectronix IP67 waterproof clip-in membrane vents enable air to flow through a sealed enclosure without letting in water. As the temperature rises and falls, the vents equalise the pressure within the sealed box and reduce the effects of condensation. IP67 membrane vents were recently used for a Sport Relief challenge, in which John Bishop ran, cycled and rowed his way from Paris to London in less than 24 hrs. We believe this to be a prime example of how Selectronix products can be put to use across a wide variety of applications – from industry to charity!

Waterproof LEDs

LTW08-XXXA 3mm LEDs are IP67 rated, giving outstanding protection against the ingress of dust, dirt and water. They are available in blue, green, white, yellow and red, and require a 4v DC supply. Custom Machining for Electronics Enclosures

Selectronix are able to customise many of the enclosures that we offer, providing a bespoke solution for component protection. We can machine anything from simple circular holes for cable glands to the most complex shapes and combinations for LEDs. If you do not have the means to design and develop an enclosure yourself, Selectronix can provide a complete design service in which we examine your requirements and develop a suitable solution. Before going to work, we’ll provide drawings for you to look over and approve. Enclosures can be painted in a choice of colours and finished to suit the environmental conditions to which it will be subjected (UV hardened, petro-chemical resistant, etc.).

Injection Moulding

Injection moulding enables enclosures to be produced exactly to specification and to suit the individual requirements of your application. We maintain professional partnerships with key industry suppliers throughout the world who can be relied upon for consistent, quality tooling at competitive prices. LGA CPU Socket

The latest generation of LGA (Land Grid Array) CPU Sockets operate to Bus speeds of 4.8-6.4 GT/s and support 40 PCI-E 3.0 lanes. Also known as ‘Socket R’, LGA2011 CPU sockets have 2011 protruding pins which touch contact points on the underside of the processor. They are supplied with back plates and ILMs. We can also supply the older LGA1366 sockets (1366 pins). Fibre Optic / Standard Patch Leads

Selectronix SEL-2301 optical ‘patch leads’ provide a high quality link between gigabit devices. They are manufactured with high-spec connectors and cables, and can be assembled according to your requirements for maximum system performance. Bulk Cable / External SCSI Cable

Selectronix supplies Universal SCSI cables manufactured by Madison, a world-leader in high performance cable design. They are used in Ultra 320, Single Ended Fast SCSI or LVD applications and feature 34 pairs of 30AWG with foil and braid screening.
