Products

'The Art of Rotation' Trust the proven quality in our range of balancing & diagnostic equipment.

Anything that rotates requires balancing, whether it be a dentist's drill or a power station turbine. Our balancing product range includes equipment suitable for miniature motors of only a few grams in weight as well as machines designed for 400 tonne steam turbine rotors.

We have solutions for manual workshop applications and completely automatic mass production systems. With over 100 years of experience in balancing and diagnosis technology, we can provide expert advice and the best solution for every task.

We also offer balancing machine rental as well as a high precision balancing and spin test service with static and dynamic balancing capability for cylindrical and disc-shaped rotors weighing up to 300 Kg.

Schenck has production locations in Europe, America and Asia and maintains a comprehensive global service network. We have had a UK presence since the 1930s. Our international team is made up of over 900 skilled and qualified employees who design and deliver solutions for research and development, production, maintenance and quality control in industries such as automotive, aerospace, power generation and mechanical engineering to name but a few.

Smart Balance2

The battery-operated SmartBalancer balances installed rotors quickly, accurately and inexpensively without the necessity of disassembling the machines in which the rotors are installed. The SmartBalancer can be operated with one hand via function keys and a joystick.

Static or dynamic correction of virtually any size of rotors is possible, and important diagnostic options such as overall vibration measurement, tracking analysis and FFT frequency analysis of vibrations are available, as are most other vibration measurement functions.

The optional software module facilitates the analysis of roller bearings by the peak value method and the reliable identification of incipient raceway damage.

Horizontal Balancing Machines

The modular HM1 and HM10 Horizontal Balancing Machines for rotors with their own shaft pivot are perfect for small work-pieces such as turbochargers, spindles and electric armatures. They can be used by either a standing or seated operator at varying locations.

The machines form a complete workplace consisting of a machine table, belt drive and mechanical balancing unit with prism or roller bearings. They can be installed without foundations or bolts.

Rotor type changeover is fast and straightforward. Overslung, underslung and tangential belt drives are available. These machines feature an automatic measuring cycle with user-settable measuring, braking and acceleration time.

Vertical Balancing Machines

The Series VM Vertical Balancing Machines enable measurement and balance correction in one or two planes in disc-shaped rotors lacking their own shaft. Many manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic applications are made possible thanks to flexible correction units and a range of optional accessories.

Permanent calibration eliminates the necessity for time-consuming calibration runs. Faster, safer, and more accurate balancing is provided by the integrated protective shroud and shorter spindle distance.

Various material removal methods are possible, as are attachment of correction weights, so the machine can be used with a wide variety of rotors.

Balancing Machines for Cranshafts

The CS 30 Balancing Machine for Crankshafts is specially designed for overhaul shops and low-volume production facilities and is suitable for rotors weight up to 700 Kg. Because the CS 30 is a permanently calibrated hard-bearing machine, a new rotor can be easily mounted and balanced after entering only minimal geometrical rotor data.

The sturdy and compact design of the CS 30 results in a small footprint. Balancing cycles are rapid thanks to short acceleration periods provided by the powerful underslung belt.

The CS 30 features unbalance correction via an integral drilling station with a linear guide mechanism, and software controlled display of tolerance calculation, drilling depth and indexing aid.

AB-Comfort

The AB-Comfort horizontal balancing machine features high efficiency and measuring accuracy, automatic indexing and measuring run, and dynamic balancing with CAB 700 measuring instrumentation. Developed in close cooperation with electric armature manufacturers, the AB-Comfort balancing machine is efficient, easy to operate and attractively priced while being suitable for operation in a production environment. Its horizontal hard-bearing design is suitable for rotors weighing up to 5 kg and up to 310 mm long. The AB-Comfort operator can readily configure the machine for the properties of the rotor to be balanced. The CAB 700 instrumentation enables the performance of unbalance correction directly at the pole head or other suitable balancing location.

HGW Balancing Machine for Drive Shafts

The HGW horizontal, hard-bearing semi-automatic balancing machine is designed for low and high speed drive shaft balancing in small production lots or overhaul and repair shops.

The modular design adds versatility to the HGW series. Various applications such as balancing drums or electric armatures can be addressed with a change or addition of components.

The basic design of the machine comprises the machine base, support pedestals including spindle bearings and vibration sensors, the belt-drive with drive motor, a control cabinet containing the measuring unit and drive controls, and safety brackets and the Class C protective enclosure in accordance with ISO7475.

Balancing Machine for Turbocharger Core Assemblies

The 100 MBRS and 101 MBRS balancing machines for turbocharger core assemblies offer precise and rapid low-speed balancing to facilitate reduction of unbalance prior to high-speed balancing of the core assembly. The machines feature an integrated oil system and direct display of digitally measured unbalance and correction data in two planes.

Changeover to different rotor types is easy, and the machines can be used in small or large production volumes as well as in development or quality control.

An optional processing unit can be added to provide unbalance correction by multiple milling and grinding correction steps.
