Gravity Die Casting

Here at RD Castings high pressure aluminium die casting is our area of expertise but we also run our own small gravity, die casting facility for prototypes and small batch work. Our gravity die casting service is for light alloy castings such as LM4, LM6, LM13, LM25 and L99. We provide complete services from design stages through to completion of CNC machined and heat-treated products. We have the facilities to undertake low and high volume production for components up to 25kg in weight. Aluminium (High Pressure) HPD Die Casting

We are also pleased to cater for small and large batch orders of metals such as LM2, LM6, LM20, LM24, LM25, ZL3, ZL5, Z12 and ZL27. Our modern aluminium HPD die casting machines enable us to lock forces between 160 tonnes up to 400 tonnes. Aluminium HPD casting offers many advantages including the production of durable and dimensionally stable parts with close tolerances, thin wall castings that are stronger and lighter than those created with alternative methods, and parts with smooth or textured surfaces that can be easily plated or finished with minimal surface preparation.

Zinc (High Pressure) HPD Die Casting

Our range of state of the art zinc HPD die casting machines also enables us to create castings of the highest quality. Alongside our fantastic machines we also use a range of equipment for auto spraying, fully integrated casting weighing and for ensuring the complete casting is removed prior to the closing loop, conveyor cooling and light guard presses. Zinc HPD castings are particularly effective for alochroming, anodising, chrome plating and other types of finishing processes. RD Castings - Design and Tool Making

Here at RD Castings we are proud to boast an incredible in-house tool room where our highly skilled team designs and manufactures CNC jigs and fixtures, precision press tools and customer tooling modifications where required. Our customer tooling is inspected and prepared before use and is serviced and maintained after each production run. New tooling is fully sampled and submitted with full dimensional reports via our 3D coordinate measuring machine. We can accept data in most formats including IGES, Auto Cad, DFX, Para Solid and more. Please get in touch for further information and advice regarding your project requirements.
