Based in Leeds, Quality Training Services (QTS) Ltd provides expert training for forklift drivers, plant operators and instructors. We are proud to be recognised as a market leader within this field and we believe this is due to providing a comprehensive, high quality service. Overall, we offer 75 different licenses and are therefore confident that we have a solution for everyone. We provide training for a wide range of equipment, including mobile cranes, lorry mounted cranes, crawler cranes, forklift trucks, mini diggers, pedestrian pallet trucks, as well as many more. It is worth noting that the majority of our courses are completed on-site, within an appropriate working environment, therefore guaranteeing validity and accuracy.

Novice Instructors

The Novice Instructors course is 10 days long and assesses trainees on a variety of different elements. It is also worth pointing out that this course is run to ITSSAR standards- that's the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register. The course assesses trainees on a wide range of different techniques including classroom lessons, practical demonstrations and report writing, as well as many more. Instructors Re-Reg

It is compulsory for instructors to complete a re-registration every five years. This re-registration comes in a form of 3 day or 5 day course with the length dependent on experience. Although we recommend that instructors take the five day course, we do offer both and at the same price. In House Instructor

The In House Instructor course runs for 5 days and can be completed by participants holding a certificate from an Accredited Training Company. Candidates will be assessed on a wide variety of aspects, such as health and safety at work, operator’s ability, practical lessons and report writing, as well as many more. It is worth noting that candidates can only work with machinery that they are certified to use and therefore have the relevant certificates to prove it. Mobile Elevated Working Platforms

We offer a comprehensive course for the safe and effective operation of mobile elevated working platforms. The course itself lasts for a single day and can involve up to 4 participants. Trainees will be assessed on a wide variety of topics, such as pre-shift checks, driving ability and the correct use of the machine. Lorry Loaders

We can offer a two day course which allows clients to gain experience in the operation of lorry mounted loaders. The course is aimed at beginners and can provide both a theoretical and practical knowledge of lorry loading. Just some of the topics which are looked at include, health and safety, maintenance, pre-operating checks, crane operation and environmental factors, as well as many more. Tower scaffold and ladder safety

There are many factors to consider when working high up, health and safety being on the major ones. It is for this reason that we offer a comprehensive one day course for tower scaffold and ladder safety. As with many of our courses, this one utilises a mixture of academic and practical techniques in order to provide a completely well rounded learning experience. 180 Excavator

The 180 Excavator course runs for five days and can be taken by up to three candidates at a time. The course itself has been designed for novices and focuses on providing both a practical and theoretical experience. Just some of the topics which will be looked at include, safety regulations, equipment mobility, equipment stability and pre-shift checks, as well as many more. It is worth noting that at the end of the course, delegates will be assessed on what they have learned and provided with feedback. 

Dumper Trucks

We offer a one day course, aimed at training candidates in the operation of both rigid and articulated dumper trucks. Each group will consist of three learners and one instructor, all using a single truck. The overall course syllabus includes, an introduction, operating safety rules, pre-operating and weekly checks, mobility and stability, loading and unloading, testing and a final summary. Counterbalance Lift Trucks

Our counterbalance forklift truck training can be undertaken by both beginners and experienced operators. We can offer a range of different course options, ranging from a one day refresher course, all the way up to five days for novices. Operators will gain experience in a variety of different aspects including, safety, battery charging and maintenance, stability, stacking, de-stacking, loading and unloading, as well as many more. Pedestrian Pallet Trucks

We can offer pedestrian lift truck training, with variations to suit both novices and those with more experience. It is also worth noting that candidates can choose from two different types of courses, including rider truck and manual truck training. Reach Trucks

We can provide a wide range of reach truck training courses, with many different options available. The course is open to both beginners and more experienced operators, with different durations available according to group size. It is also worth noting that we can offer a simple, one day refresher course for those who are looking for a tune up. Container Handler

The container handler course has been designed to offer comprehensive training for the safe and correct operation of container handler machinery. Training In Scotland

QTSUK now offers a wide variety of training services in Scotland including all types of forklift trucks, chainsaw, manual handling, 360 excavators, 180 excavators, abrasive wheels, dumpers, and mini excavators. Our resident instructor, Mr Graham Borthwick is also able to train on a wide variety of farming vehicles including tractors, telescopic forklift trucks and more. Graham has a wealth of experience both as an accredited trainer and the industry itself. He can advise on various areas including training required and space constraints. Dockside Reach Stackers

Our Dockside Reach Stacker training programme aims to ensure trainees obtain all relevant information and skills required to carry out daily operations in a safe and competent manner. Upon completion of this course, candidates will understand the principles of counterbalance, stability factors, rated capacity plate, and operators safety rules. The will also be capable of safely carrying out skills including stacking/de-stacking of containers from various levels, vertical stacking/de-stacking, and loading/unloading various trailers. The durations of the training lasts up to 5 days, depending upon the numbers and experience of trainees.

Tug Masters

Our Tug Master training programmes are split into three categories. We offer a five-day course for novice operators, a three-day course for more experienced trainees, and a one-day refresher course. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to carry out pre-start safety check and start-up procedures as per company policy, manoeuvre and operate the tug master, trailer and maffi correctly, couple and uncouple a goose neck, connect and disconnect from a maffi, park trailers and maffis in set parking bays, position trailers for loading ships, correctly park, shut down and secure the vehicle, and carry out a post-stop inspection.

Order Picker Trucks

QTSUK also offers a comprehensive Order Picker Truck training service for both novices and experienced operators. The aim of this course it provide trainees with the theoretical and practical knowledge to safely operate a medium level order picking truck (elevation of operator no more than 2.5 metres). On completion of the training, candidates will be able to drive and operate the order picker safely and efficiently, stack/de-stack at various levels, carry out pre-use checks to ensure the equipment is in safe condition, carry out battery maintenance and charging procedures, pick and place individual goods, and to escape in the event of an emergency.

Very Narrow Aisle Operator

Upon completion of our Very Narrow Aisle Operator truck course, trainees will have gained the practical and theoretical knowledge required to safely and effectively carry out their duties. Candidates will have a thorough understanding of responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, operators safety code, battery charging and maintenance, pre-use checks, factors affecting stability, stacking/de-stacking in open areas and the confines of a very narrow aisle, and abseil/evacuation requirements.

Side Loaders

The Sideloader Truck training course is ideal for novice and/or experienced forklift operators. It offers the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge which enables trainees to safely operate the machinery and to become accredited to ITSSAR standards. On completion of the programme, candidates will have a theoretical understanding of operators safety code practices, daily inspection procedures, hydraulic systems and engineering principles, assessment of weights and much more.
