Monolithic LED Arrays

We use specialist wafer processing techniques to produce monolithic arrays of very small, high brightness emitting areas. These LED arrays are widely used in optical systems, head-up displays, thermal imaging systems and commercial printing applications. They can feature thousands of LED’s on one single chip with linear dimensions of individual diodes as small as 10µm.

We provide complete modules that may incorporate drive and interface electronics, lenses and filters, mechanical interfaces and interconnect in order to create fully functional components for easy integration into target systems.

Our monolithic LED arrays feature a wide temperature range, high reliability, compact mechanical design, wide viewing angle, fine resolution, on-board driver technology, uniformity compensation, video rate processing and more.

Avionics

During the years we have created a number of custom display products for major airborne platforms including:

Eurofighter Typhoon: we developed a dedicated warnings panel display system featuring a 28 caption display with 24 fully programmable bi-colour captions and over and underlines as well as three fixed legend captions all fitted into a tight space. The LED display utilised analogue and digital ASIC technology and advanced multi-level MCM-C construction.

AgustaWestland Lynx Helicopter: we also developed a display used to show pitch and roll in the hover trim controller in the Lynx aircraft.

Hybrid Circuits and Packaging

We provide a range of services including die bonding, wire bonding, precision assembly, burn-in test and environmental stress screening. We also use a range of substrates including co-fired ceramic, thick film alumina, FR4 and various other specialised materials for packaging purposes.

We provide complete project management from design and procurement of substrates, design of packages and enclosures as well as the optimisation of assembly and sealing techniques.

Hermatic sealing is available for polarising plastic windows and optical filters to enhance the contrast in high brightness environments or to make the display compatible with night vision equipment.
