Microdrilling

We use a variety of drilling methods to meet drilling requests to the highest of standards. Drilling methods such as HSS, HSSCo or solid carbide twist drills are regularly used for drilling smaller ranges from 0.20mm down to 0.05mm. We also use binocular microscopes for drilling small holes which magnify the area by up to 35x so we can drill precisely and accurately. Various depths of holes can be drilled depending on the size of the hole required. We sometimes opt for conventional forms of drilling over laser forms to produce a rounder hole without the molten burr on exit. This is often better suited to gas or fluid flow applications.

Small Hole Drilling

Our small hole drilling service is an essential process required by many industries. We use specialist equipment for drilling extremely small holes – ones that even the eye can’t see! We have the capabilities to drill holes 0.05mm in diameter up to 2mm in diameter. This can be undertaken in most ferrous and non-ferrous materials apart from ceramics which our drills don’t tend to stand up to!
