Klargester BioDisc

Designed for domestic dwellings that do not have mains drainage, the Klargester BioDisc® provides a reliable, efficient and environmentally safe solution for your sewage disposal needs. It is ideal for locations where discharge is to sub-surface irrigation or to a suitable watercourse approved by the Environment Agency or other regulating bodies, or for situations where a septic tank will not meet the required standard. Low running costs and a low maintenance design make the BioDisc® an economical solution for wastewater disposal. Find out more by visiting Owls Hall online.

Klargester Envirosafe

Envirosafe treatment systems from Klargester are designed to deliver optimum performance and are fully capable of supporting future increases in demand (up to 300 users). They benefit from high rate performance across a range of influent and effluent qualities, low head loss, a compact design, variable invert options, alarm protection, low running costs and a low maintenance requirement. Envirosafe treatment systems consist of a single piece tank that can be quickly installed underground for minimal visual impact.

Klargester Biotec

The Klargester Biotec is one of the most popular sewage treatment systems in the UK. The system uses an aerobic biological process to treat wastewater, which means that it has no moving parts. Without mechanical or electrical components, Biotec systems are far less likely to suffer from operating problems.

Other benefits include below-ground installation, discreet covers, quiet operation, low running costs and an extremely low maintenance requirement. The Klargester Biotec sewage treatment system discharges into a watercourse or a designed infiltration system.  Find out more by visiting Owls Hall online.

Klargester Sealed Cesspool

Klargester sealed cesspools are ideal for locations without mains drainage, where the discharge of treated effluent is not possible due to unsuitable ground conditions, or where infrequent or seasonal use would prevent the functioning of a Klargester BioDisc treatment plant. Constructed from non-corrosive materials, Klargester cesspools ensure a high level of reliability. Each cesspool is tested and inspected to ensure that it is both watertight and structurally sound. A range of sizes are available, from 18180 litres (4000 gallons) to 55,000 litres (12,000 gallons). Lockable man covers are available if required. To speak to an Owls Hall expert about Klargester sealed cesspools, just give us a call on 0845 375 1801.

PHORS Tank

The PHORS Tank is a specialist Phosphate Removal System capable of reducing phosphate levels to 2mg/l in most typical applications. While many treatment plants are effective in breaking down the main pollutants (OD, suspended solids and ammonia), most of them do not have the ability to reduce the level of phosphates, a potentially harmful element commonly found in detergents and human waste. That’s why Phosphate Removal Systems are becoming increasingly popular throughout the UK.

The PHORS Tank caters for up to 150 people and may be customised according to the specific requirements of the location.

Alpha Septic Tank

The Alpha Septic Tank from Klargester provides a reliable, economic and efficient sewage disposal solution.  It is particularly suitable for domestic dwellings that do not have mains drainage. Made from a composite GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), the Alpha Tank is both strong and light, as well as chemically resistant and water tight. Its unique design aids separation and retention of solids, thus improving effluent quality. As with all the systems listed here, Owls Hall can offer a full installation service carried out by Klargester-certified professionals with a wealth of installation experience.

Sample Chambers

If treated wastewater is discharged into a watercourse, it is a regulatory requirement to have a sampling point where the effluent quality can be periodically checked by regulatory bodies. This usually means having a sample chamber installed which enables easy access for accurate and convenient testing. Owls Hall can supply and install a solution to suit all outlet depths. For more information, please visit Owls Hall online or contact us directly on 0845 375 1801.

Reed Beds

A reed bed provides a natural filtration system, and when used in conjunction with treatment plant, can further enhance the quality of effluent. Red beds require very little maintenance, are environmentally and aesthetically sensitive, and are made to comply with all relevant building regulations. A modular design means they can be installed according to individual requirements. To find out more about reed beds and how they can significantly improve discharge from a treatment plant, please visit Owls Hall online or get in touch with our customer service reps on 0845 375 1801.

HiPAF Compact sewage treatment plant for 1-60 people

HiPAF compact sewage treatment systems combine versatility, efficiency, reliability, strength and robustness, meeting all Environment Agency standards whilst creating minimal visual impact on the landscape. More than 1,400 HiPAF units have been installed throughout the UK and beyond, making it one of the most popular systems of its kind. In fact, the HiPAF is regularly specified by the likes of United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Anglian Water and Southern Water as the standard SAF sewage treatment system for first-time sewerage schemes and upgrades to rural works. It is also the preferred choice for many domestic and commercial applications that are not connected to mains drainage.

The HiPAF system provides treatment for Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Suspended Solids (SS) and ammonia (NH4) in wastewater applications for populations of up to 60 people.

Package Pump Station Range

Owls Hall can offer a range of Klargester package pump systems for both residential and commercial developments. These are typically needed where foul drainage by gravity alone is not possible. Pump stations include:

  • Domestic sewage pumping
  • Effluent pumpsets for sewage treatment plants
  • Surface water pumping systems
  • Septic tank pumpsets
  • 24 hour storage chambers
  • Bespoke systems

All pump stations supplied by Owls Hall feature high level alarms, pre-set automatic level controls and non-return valves. A number optional extras are also available.

We offer a full installation and commissioning service for all pumping equipment. Find out more by visiting the Installation section on the Owls Hall website.

High Capacity Pumping Station Range

We are also able to supply a range of high capacity pumping systems, which are mainly (but not exclusively) used for commercial applications. They are typically found in large housing developments (10-500 houses), commercial and industrial developments, hotels and restaurants, caravan and camping sites.

Pumpstor24 high capacity pumping stations feature high level alarms, multiple valve chamber location and invert options, weir cover screens that prevent solids passing into the main storage chamber, plus a unique weir screen cleaning facility that removes the need to access the chamber during maintenance. For more features and benefits, please visit Owls Hall online.

TT Pumps

Owls Hall are now able to supply a range of pumps and sludge transfer products from T-T, a leading UK manufacturer of liquid transfer equipment. Choosing the right pumping system is critical for ensuring optimal performance and a long service life. Our experts use of all of their knowledge and experience to select a system that meets your specific needs. They make hundreds of calculations to ensure that the pump chosen will deliver the levels of performance required for the given application.

Klargester Separator Range

As per Environment Agency guidelines, an appropriate separator must be installed in any situation where there may be a danger of contaminants (such as oil and petrol) entering the drainage system. The type of system depends on the level of risk posed by the contaminants. On the Owls Hall website you will find a chart that gives guidance to aid separator selection. Of course, you can also call us for advice if needed. Our helpful, friendly customer service reps are available on 0845 375 1801.

Alarm Systems

We offer a number of alarms systems which are compatible with a range of Klargester and Entec products. These provide a safeguard against a host of potential problems, many of which can be extremely expensive to rectify. There are four main types of alarm available:

  • Loss rotation and high water level alarms – designed for the Klargester BioDisc system. Alarm activates when the discs stop moving.
  • Low pressure and high water level alarms – designed for the Klargest Biotec system. Alarm activates when there is a decrease in pressure.
  • High water level alarms – designed for all sewage treatment tanks/cesspools
  • Separator alarms – for class 1 and 2 separators. Prevents oil from accumulating to the point where separator efficiency is threatened.

Installation, Servicing of Grease Traps

Fats, oils and greases discharged into public sewers are thought to be responsible for around 75% of the 200,000+ drain blockages that occur in the UK every year. Such blockages are expensive for local authorities to deal with, yet they can be so easily avoided. Much of the fat, oil and grease that enters public sewers comes from restaurants and food service kitchens, whose sinks and dishwashers are regularly used to dispose of wastewater which contains a high amount of grease/oil.

Grease Guardian® is an innovative grease removal unit the stops the problem at its source, automatically trapping and removing over 95% of grease from wastewater. It can be installed within most commercial kitchens, or if space is limited in a basement or adjacent room. Find out more about this environmentally friendly grease management solution at Owls Hall online.

Grease Management

Grease Guzzler is another environmentally friendly grease management solution designed for the commercial food service and catering market. This innovative, self-contained system uses patented bio-technology to ensure efficient and effective drain cleansing with minimal environmental impact. Its compact, aesthetic design saves space and complements the units found in most commercial kitchens. The Grease Guzzler is designed on the principle of “fit and forget” – a self-contained, fully automated set-up ensures no daily maintenance is required. Principal benefits include:

  • Prevents drain blockage and pump station failure caused by the build up of fats, oils and greases
  • Eliminates foul drain odours
  • Reduces grease trap maintenance or the need for a grease trap
  • Requires no space-consuming drums for bio-chemicals.

Attenuation Tanks

As more and more river valleys are developed with hard surfaces (paths, roads, etc.), the volume of rainwater that runs off the land continues to increase. This has had and will continue to have a severe effect on watercourses, where flash floods can occur downstream because of the increased run-off upstream. Global warming, which has increased the amount of rain that falls over the British Isles, has only accentuated the problem.

In response, towns, cities and developments have been looking for ways to reduce the quantity of water run-off from their sites, and have found attenuation systems and separators to be the most effective in doing so. Attenuation systems can store large amounts of excess water which then can be discharged at a suitable rate after the storm has passed. Find out more by visiting Owls Hall online.

Klargester Envireau

The Klargester Envireau is a rainwater harvesting system that collects and re-distributes water for non-potable applications such as toilets, washing machines and commercial applications. The system collects rainwater from the roof, filters out leaves and other debris, and stores it in either an underground or aboveground holding tank. It is then drawn off via a silent running pump and passed through a series of filters before it reaches the application.

The Klargester Envireau has been shown to reduce water bills by up to 55%. By adding a UV filtration unit to the system, the water collected can also be made potable, thereby reducing water bills a further 35%. Within just 3 years, the Envireau rainwater harvesting system will have practically paid for itself.
