Crystal Units

Crystal units are passive components that use the piezoelectrical effect of the crystal to produce a frequency. When an electrical current is applied, the crystal creates a highly stable resonance frequency on an oscillation circuit. This can be used as an electrical signal in all sorts of electronic devices. Crystal units are widely used in mobile telecommunications, wireless communications and various automotive applications.

You can find more information on our crystal units (including technical specifications) on the NDK website.

Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators (TCXO)

Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators (TCXO) provide higher levels of temperature stability than standard crystal oscillators. They work by automatically adjusting the frequency of the oscillator to offset temperature changes. Compensation for temperature changes within the oscillator means basic performance can significantly improved. TCXOs are used in many mobile telecommunications and automotive applications. Head over to the NDK website to discover our full range of TCXOs.

Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillators (VCXO)

Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators (VCXOs) feature variable capacitance diodes inserted in series with crystal units. The capacitance of the diodes can be changed by the application of an external voltage that causes the oscillator to develop frequency variations. VCXOs are commonly used in fixed communication applications. Our full range of VCXOs can be found on the NDK website.

If you require any help or advice in the identification of a suitable VCXO for your application, please do not hesitate to call. Our UK sales office can be reached on 020 8547 0500.

Frequency Controlled Crystal Oscillators (FCXO)

Frequency Controlled Crystal Oscillators (FCXOs) can create output frequencies which are synchronised to the external output standard frequency. You can find a full overview of our FCXOs with details and technical specifications on the NDK website. For more information or advice, please contact our UK sales team on 020 8547 0500.

Ultrasonic Probe (Transducer)

NDK’s Ultrasonic Probes are used to generate and detect acoustic signals in various testing and diagnostic applications. The performance and imaging quality depend on the characteristics and structure of the probe – by changing the piezoelectric material and acoustic lens, you can alter the strength of the signal.

The configuration of the probe depends on the application you have in mind. We have a series of standard probes for medical diagnosis, healthcare applications, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and many other industrial applications, but can also design bespoke probes for customer-specific applications.

Customers can decide on the probe specification (frequency, element pitch, element number, etc) and the probe’s outer shape. At NDK, we have a great deal of experience in the design and manufacture of customised transducers and have a proven track-record of success in this field.

To discuss your requirements with a member of the NDK team, just give us a call on 020 8547 0500.

QCM Systems & Sensors

NDK’s “NAPiCOS” QCM Systems and Sensors enable users to make high sensitivity measurements for molecular interaction (such as in biological protein binding, DNA binding, etc.) with just a simple injection of a sample. They can also be used for gas measurement in materials development and environmental monitoring applications. NAPiCOS systems are available in manual and automatic configurations.

For more information about our NAPiCOS QCM systems and their uses, please head over to the NDK website or get in touch directly on 020 8547 0500.

Frequency Synthesizer

NDK’s range of frequency synthesiser modules offer high frequency extensibility and are widely used for high-speed radio communication in the microwave zone. Main applications include digital terrestrial broadcasting, commercial radio equipment and measurement instrumentation. For more details and specifications, please visit NDK online.

3GHz Low Phase Noise CW Signal Generator SG010M3R0GB

Our 3GHz low phase noise CW Signal generators are used in research and development applications and for product inspection on communication device production lines. Measuring just 224 x 320.5 x 99mm and weighing in at only 3.5kg, they are amongst the most compact, lightweight CW signal generators of their kind. Full details and product specifications can be found on the NDK website.

Remember, if you have any questions regarding any of the systems listed in the sections above, please do not hesitate to call. We’re available on 020 8547 0500.
