EDM / Spark Erosion

The EDM or spark erosion technique is a unique manufacturing process which allows users to remove excess materials which wouldn’t normally be removable using standard machinery. Just some of the materials which would benefit from this technique include carbide, kovar, inconel, hastelloy and titanium. Heat Treatment

We offer a fast and effective heat treating service at very competitive prices.  Our investments in top-of-the-range furnaces have enabled us to cut down load times on multi-process jobs, and our flexibility has allowed us to provide customer service in the quickest service possible. At every stage of the process, we carry out strict quality control - including stability and dimensional accuracy checks. Individual records of each and every product are reviewed and certified by our highly trained engineers. NDPP works with Tool Steels, High-Speed Tools, Stainless Steels, Special Alloy Steels, Copper Anealing and Medium Carbon Steels.

Jigs & Fixtures

NDPP has many years of tool-making and jig and fixture manufacturing experience for customers across the UK. Our build jigs and fixtures are designed and manufactured to assist with the machining, production or measurement of our customers products. Mould Tools

NDPP is able to provide a comprehensive range of mould tools services from initial design and prototyping right through to pre-preduction runs and managing final production. A large number of our orders in this area come from the orthopaedic industry with projects including the tooling for the manufacture of knee joints. Our diverse skill set includes ejection moulds, thermoset moulds, overmould tools, compression moulds, micro moulding, mould repair, mould spares, prototype moulds, electrode design and manufacture, conformal cooling and QCO or Quick Change moulds. We aim to work closely with our clients in order to achieve the right results every time.

Press Tools

NDPP has the capability to design and manufacture all variations of press tooling whether your requirement is for a single stage operation or a multi stage progression with everything in between. Our press tool department is also fully equipped to create a completely bespoke service including large scale orders and one-offs. Our high level of experience in this area has allowed us to offer our services with a very high level of quality in the shortest possible times. Our expertise covers design and manufacture of press tools, progression tools, prototype tools, and carbide tools as well as 3D pin bending and spare tooling.

WEDM / Wire Erosion

In order to be able to manufacture moulds and press tool punches of a complex nature, NDPP makes use of the WEDM or Wire Erosion method with our Ultra Precise AGIEcut Vertex F machine. This machine is able to produce a surface finish with Ra 0.05 and 0.0005mm accuracy using a 0.02mm wire. The WEDM process is also highly accurate and efficient and, as such, has become an extremely popular manufacturing method. To meet demand, NDPP have gathered a highly experienced team with 24 hour machining capabilities in order to provide a cost effective and high quality service.

Laser Welding

NDPP can provide a laser welding service in order to provide modifications or repairs to tooling that have suffered damage or wear and tear over time. We are able to provide this service to work pieces up to a weight of 350kg which can be processed in a fast and efficient manner both rotationally and on 3 axes (x, y and z). At NDPP, we have the capabilities to carry our our laser welding service in three different modes: manually, semi-automatic or fully automatic depending on the requirements of the job. Our laser welding processes are highly stable and of a very high quality in order to ensure that the tooling material properties are not altered during the process.

Micro Moulding

NDPP are specialist manufacturers of micro moulds and babyplast tools and hold a number of cavities and pre-machined cores in regular stock in order to be able to offer finished products with very short lead times, often just two weeks. We fully prove all the tools we manufacture on our in-house BOY XS moulding machine with which we use platens that have been specifically adapted for the purpose. QCO / Quick Change

In order to provide significant reductions in tool change over times, NDPP are fully equipped to provide our QCO system. This system allows the tool to stay within the press whilst the product change is carried out, reducing the tool change time from a matter of hours to a matter of minutes. NDPP are able to design QCO system tools that specifically meet the requirements of our customers and their exact injection moulding machines. We also ensure that all the tools we produce are completely proven before being delivered to the customer to ensure complete peace of mind.
