Musk’s have been making top quality sausages since 1884. All of our products are based on the original Newmarket recipe that James Musk invented nearly 130 years ago – a recipe that has been passed from generation to generation but which has remained a closely guarded secret for all that time. Despite being a century on from the days of the first Musk sausage, we continue to make them in the same way as we have always done: by hand and in small batches, without colouring or preservatives.  

Such is the enduring quality of the Musk sausage that it has been a favourite of the Royal Family for well over a hundred years. The company was granted its first warrant in 1907 by the Prince of Wales (and future King George V), the second in 1929 by Edward VIII, the third in 1965 by the Queen Mother, and most recently in 2005 by Her Majesty the Queen herself. Few other producers have such a strong heritage in sausage making as Musk’s. 

Original Newmarket Sausages

Our original Newmarket Sausages are based on the recipe created by James Musk back in 1884. In fact, they’ve hardly changed at all. They are still made by hand in small batches, and they are still completely free from artificial colourings or preservatives. To produce an original Newmarket Sausage we use fully traceable pork shoulder meat from free-range British pigs, locally baked bread and a secret blend of spices – all encased within a natural skin that retains the succulence for which Musk’s sausages are famed.

Breakfast Sausages

Musk’s Breakfast Sausage is a hearty banger that’s just as great alongside bacon and black pudding as it is on its own! Like the original Newmarket Sausage it’s made with fully traceable pork shoulder meat from free-range British pigs, locally baked bread and a unique blend of spices that work perfectly in a morning meal.
