Contract Electronic Manufacture

Microtech is fully equipped to provide a comprehensive electronic manufacture service from our facilities in High Wycombe. Our service includes PCB assembly, testing including functional, ATE and JTAG, electro/mechanical product assembly, manual and AOI inspection, production engineering consultancy and the manufacture of cable and wiring harnesses. We can offer high-speed intelligent placement which provides a high level of efficiency from two surface mount lines. Able to process 16,000 components per hour and with a feeder capacity of 396 by 8 millimetres, our high speed intelligent placement is also quick to set up and changeover. We can also supply advanced vision technology for micro BGA, lead damage checks and 0201/micro BGA placement accuracy.

Design Support

Microtech's design and technical services cover all aspects and are designed to meet all of your potential design requirements. Our range of services includes circuit design and schematic capture, mechanical design, PCG CAD layout, firmware, assistance with approvals including CE and UL among others, production engineering, project management and documentation and change control. 

Logistic Support

Microtech's range of services includes logistic support from packing and shipping to repairs and stock management. Our batch orders service, also known as a 'spot' order service, allows you to place an order which we then manufacture and deliver, allowing you to control your stock levels effectively. Our kanban or consignment stock service lets us hold stock for you which can be called off when required. We are also able to manufacture and deliver batches to a pre-arranged, contractual schedule as well as providing a call off order service in which we hold stock after you place and order and release once you have called it off.

Lean Manufacturing

Microtech can provide a lean manufacturing service that allows production to be carried out at a lower cost yet higher quality with reduced lead times. Lean manufacturing aims to eliminate wastage and complete orders in the shortest time possible. In turn, lean manufacturing can help to improve profitability and customer satisfaction by greatly decreasing the length of time between order and delivery. Lean manufacturing processes include the production of single pieces, orders with repetitive characteristics, fast changeovers and short cycle times, efficient procedures, continuous flow work cells, flexibility of the workforce, and significant reductions in the amount of defects and high levels of first-pass yields.

MicroExpress

MicroExpress is Microtech's specialist and dedicated facility for Fast Flexible Manufacture which aims to provide a quick and highly flexible manufacturing service for times when a full manufacture and all the associated controls, processes and documentation are not appropriate. MicroExpress provides a prototype PCB service that covers SMT, BGA and Conventional, with a 'Gold Service' that offers a typical turnaround time of just two days. This express prototyping service allows you to circumvent any potential manufacturing problems whilst ensuring your product reaches the market in the fastest possible time. MicroExpress also offers a DFM Health Check service where our production engineers produce a complete report on your product, helping to reduce the risk of mistakes and delays.

Mentor Production Management Software

Microtech produce and use our very own production management software, called 'Mentor'. Mentor integrates a number of different functions, that would have previously been accessed via numerous seperate software packages, into a single web browser application. Using Mentor, Microtech have created a simplified and paperless manufacturing process with enhanced management and control. Mentor is easy to install and run and has been designed with the user in mind so that it can be operated successfully with minimal training. Mentor brings together process routing cards, quality and progress monitoring information, the delivery requirements of your customers, operational feedback, returns information and much more.
