Leeming & Peel Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of coil springs, compression springs, flat springs and tension springs. We’ve been producing high quality springs from our Bradford based manufacturing facility since 1947, and today we supply components to clients based all over the globe.
 
As well as a diverse range of standard products, Leeming & Peel are able to design, develop and produce bespoke springs made exactly to your requirements. We use the very latest CAD software in the design phases and the most advanced production technologies during manufacture. Leeming & Peel welcomes both small and large quantity orders, and also provides a Spring Breakdown Delivery Service.

Services

Spring Coatings & Surface Engineering
 
All of the springs we supply can be plated or painted to your specification. We also have shot peening and bead peening facilities which can be used to greatly improve the fatigue life of compression springs.
 
Wire Straightening & Cutting
 
Leeming & Peel are able to straighten round coiled wire up to 6.35 mm in diameter. This can then be cut to your desired length. Spring wire, stainless wire, pre-galvanised wire and phosphor bronze wire are all types that can be straightened.

Compression Springs

A compression spring is an open-wound helical component that exerts a load or force when compressed. Typical compression spring shapes include conical, barrel, concave or standard cylindrical – Leeming & Peel can manufacture each of these varieties in a range of materials, including stainless, phosphor bronze, chrome vanadium, monel 400, inconel X750 and nimonic 90. Ends may be closed and ground, closed and unground, or open and ground. Many of our springs are available from stock, but we can also produce to specification where required, providing material test certificates and certificates of conformity as part of the service.

Tension Springs

A tension spring is exactly the opposite of a compression spring, in that it has a close coiled helical design that extends under a pulling force. There are various types of tension spring, the most commonly used being full loop, hook end, double twisted loop, coned end and square cut end. Flat Springs & Torsion Springs

Flat springs are available in a range of materials, including high-carbon spring steel, stainless steel, beryllium and various other alloys. They are typically used in situations where the required deflection is fairly minimal, such as in restricted spaces.
 
A torsion spring has a helical coil that exerts a torque or rotary force. They available in left or right hand configurations. These springs should be supported over a rod where possible.
