Ground Source Heat Pumps

Ice Energy introduced Ground Source Heat Pumps to the UK in 2003 and were one of the first UK companies to implement this heating system. Ground Source Heat Pumps use stored solar energy to safely provide hot water and heating throughout the home. Ground Source Heat Pumps can also be combined with our other cost and energy saving systems such as Solar PV and Underfloor Heating. Solar Photovoltaic Systems (Solar PV)

Solar PV Systems have seen rapid growth due to their cost and energy saving benefits. Our Solar Photovoltaic Systems are available for residential and commercial properties and come in a range of designs. Our highly efficient solar PV modules are designed to take up minimal roof space and to optimise electricity generation. Solar PV utilises the Feed in Tariff payment system leading to energy saving costs now and in the future. Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating utilises lower flow temperatures and rising heat that radiates heat to the floor surface and provides a cost effective floor heating system. Renewable Energy Grants

The UK is introducing a number of initiatives in order to meet renewable energy targets by 2020. These initiatives include renewable energy grants such as The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and The Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP). These grants are designed to provide long term support across a range of renewable energy products and to help offset the cost of implementing renewable energy systems.  These grants are available to domestic users and have government approval. Grants can include funding towards the implementation of renewable energy systems up to a total of £2,300 for ground source heat pumps and £1,300 for air source heat pumps.

Feed in Tariff

Adopters of electricity generating systems such as Solar PV will be rewarded with payments from the big six energy suppliers; this is known as the Feed in Tariff. Customers will be paid for each unit of electricity that is generated by their Solar PV System. Additional payments are also available for each unit generated but not used by the customer. Unused units are then exported back to the national grid, known as the Export Tariff. This scheme is approved by the government and all six energies companies are required by law to provide these payments to Solar PV users.

The Home Renewables Loan Scheme

The Home Renewables Loan Scheme provides interest free loans of up to £10,000 for renewable electricity and heating systems. The renewable energy systems can include Solar PV and heat pumps and is provided to help with the implementation of renewable energy systems in residential properties across Scotland. These loans have a repayment period of up to eight years; £2000 loans for electricity generating systems are also available with a repayment period of up to four years. Applications must be submitted by the home owner and quotes must be provided with all funding applications.
