Established in 1918, Fabreeka is an ISO 9001 registered company that specialises in providing anti-vibration and shock isolation solutions to an ever-expanding global customer-base. Combining innovative thinking with a wealth of experience, Fabreeka has gained a renowned reputation as an international leader in the field of engineering and manufacturing products that help to protect equipment from all shock and vibration problems.

Fabreeka’s first major project was the successful “Fabreeka pad”, which was developed in 1936 with engineers at Goodyear and MIT. It was considered the most superior product in its field at the time, and is still used as a highly effective shock and vibration isolator to this day.   In 1964, we patented our “Fabcel rubber pad”, and have since designed and manufactured a wide range of high-quality, reliable, and cost-efficient vibration and shock isolation products for countless different applications within many industries.

Since our UK operation was opened in 1965, Fabreeka has gone on to open subsidiaries in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, and most recently, Taiwan.  Our international presence demonstrates Fabreeka’s ongoing tradition of excellence in vibration and shock technology, and our dedicated employees are committed to providing outstanding customer services – worldwide.

Fabreeka Pad as Shock Control

Developed in 1936, the Fabreeka Pad has been a popular choice of shock absorber that has been used in industries such as mining and metal forming for many years.  The elastomeric pad is fabric reinforced; making it exceptionally suited for the reduction of impact shock up to 12,000 psi. The Fabreeka pad is designed to increase the service life of heavy machinery, whereby applying them will aid with the absorption of impact shock and isolation of transmitted vibration. Each pad is scientifically structured with a high damping rate and high storage energy per unit volume, ensuring high-performance under even the most severe operating conditions. They also help to prevent cracking and flaking of concrete, eliminating the requirement for grouting.

Fabcel Rubber Pad for Vibration Isolation

Often referred to as a waffle pad or waffle effect, the Fabcel vibration isolation pad is manufactured with a nitrile compound that was developed in 1962, and has been used within a vast range of industries for over 40 years. The Fabcel pad is a reliable and cost-efficient solution for protecting machinery and sensitive equipment from impact shock or isolation of transmitted vibration. They will withstand loads of up to 300 psi and can be bonded together to achieve any desired isolation efficiency for any application. With a high energy storage rate per unit volume, the Fabcel rubber pad can have a vertical natural frequency as low as 5.0 Hz and a horizontal natural frequency as low as 3.0 Hz.

Expansion Bearings

Our structural expansion bearings are designed to accommodate structural rotation and thermal expansion for all types of buildings, bridges, and pipe supports. All expansion bearings are designed or manufactured to specification for a diverse range of applications. They are supplied as an upper and lower unit and are prepared to be tack or stitch welded in the field.  Fabreeka offers the following bearings:
  • SBX – Suitable for large rotations and high reaction loads and designed using a Fabreeka-PTFE pad in the lower unit.
  • TTX and STX – Manufactured with the option of a filled or unfilled PTFE sliding surface, depending on individual requirements.

Fabreeka-PTFE Bearing Pad

The Fabreeka-PTFE breaking pad is the perfect solution for accommodating construction irregularities such as rotation and non-parallel load bearing surfaces. They are manufactured with a Teflon surface which has a low coefficient of friction, making them an excellent choice of pad for use in expansion bearings and pipe slides. Each pad is scientifically structured to ensure a long service life and they meet AASHTO standard specification for fabric-reinforced bearing pads. The Fabreeka-PTFE breaking pads are designed to withstand compressive loads perpendicular to the plane of laminations of no less than 12,000 psi before breakdown.

SA-47 Random Fibre (ROF) Pads

Originally designed for use as tie plate pads for the railroad industry, the scientifically constructed SA-47 random fibre pads provide compensation for surface irregularities and non-parallel load bearing surfaces in precast concrete and building and construction applications. Each pad can withstand compressive loads of up to 7,000 psi, and they meet the D.O.T and federal specifications for reinforced elastomeric pads and bedding of masonry plates. Customers also have the option to purchase SA-47 pads with a Teflon surface for use in expansion bearings and pipe slides. As with all of Fabreeka’s products, the pads are made with the highest-quality materials to ensure reliability and a long service life.

Structural Thermal Break Connection Pads

Fabreeka’s energy-saving thermal break connection pads are designed to maintain structural integrity while reducing heat loss. Manufactured from a fibreglass-reinforced laminate composite, each pad is thermally efficient and has a high-load capacity, making them perfectly suited for preventing thermal bridging in structural connections.

PLM Pneumatic Mounts

The Fabreeka PLM series isolation mounts are designed to significantly reduce disturbing vibration and shock impact. Each mount can be inflated via a standard tank valve or a pneumatic fitting, and no custom adapters are necessary. Products that are supplied with a tank valve and can be leveled manually with the use of a hand pump or air chuck that is connected to an air supply. Mounts that are supplied with a fitting can be plumbed to a regulated air supply making pressurising and levelling easier. For applications that require vibration control, the pneumatic portion of each mount aids to provide significant reduction and vibration occurring at frequencies above 5.0 Hz. The outer elastomeric wall construction provides a high deflection shock mount for shock or impact applications.

PAL Pneumatic Isolators

The PAL-type pneumatic isolators are an ideal solution for providing superior low frequency vibration isolation in conditions where height control and low frequency vibration must co-exist. With a natural frequency in standard isolators as low as 1.7 Hz, and 0.5 Hz for custom made isolators, the Fabreeka PAL series are capable of meeting all of the critical needs of metrology instruments, electron microscopes, inspection stations, and precision manufacturing equipment. Each isolator can support payloads from 100 to 120,000 pounds, and they react quickly to changes in the supported load and centre of gravity shifts by automatically levelling to a pre-set position.

Isolation Tables/Platforms

Our Precision-Aire series table is an excellent choice of self-leveling work surface that provides low frequency isolation. They are ideal for use within fields which require high-levels of accuracy, such as metrology and microscopy. Each table is designed to support payloads of 400 to 2,500 pounds, using four pneumatic isolators which have a vertical and horizontal natural frequency of 1.5 Hz. The work surface can be manufactured using a selection of materials including stainless steel and plastic laminate.  These surfaces include a highly damped epoxy to reduce “ringing” of the steel support plate. Fabreeka also offers a range of accessories to accompany our isolation tables, from arm rest pads to sliding shelves.

The ISO Tab-L tabletop platforms effectively isolate structural and floor vibration using pneumatic isolators beneath the work surface.  They are ideal for desktops and benches in laboratories and Q.C rooms, and are capable of supporting and isolating precision instruments weighing up to 900 pounds. The ISO Tab-L table tops are available in four different sizes with a choice of materials ranging from polished granite to anodized aluminium.

EPM Vibration Isolation Foam Material

FAB-EPM material is a polyurethane elastomer that is manufactured in a wide range of types, allowing for optimal loading to achieve increased isolator performance. It is supplied in full sheet form, strips, or blocks depending on specific customer requirements. The foam is impervious to most chemicals, alkaline solutions, and oils, and has a damping rate of 7 to 15% critical. The natural frequency ranges from 6.0 to 40.0 Hz and when used in full sheet form, the material can become the base formwork for concrete foundations. FAB-EPM is suited to applications such as industrial machinery and vibrating equipment.

Vibration Isolation Washers

We are suppliers of a high-quality selection of vibration isolation washers and bushings that are used to eliminate metal-to-metal contact, and break the vibration or shock transmission path. Made from rubber, and capable of withstanding loads of up to 12,000 psi, our isolation washers and bushings can be die cut to any outside/inside diameter required.  They are typically used in conjunction with Fabreeka or Fabcel pads where the reduction of impact shock or isolation of transmitted vibration is required.

Compression Mounts

Fabreeka offers a range of rugged, high-performance mounts that are built with Neoprene bonded steel, and are designed to effectively interrupt noise transmission paths to prevent sounding board effects. Typically used to prevent the transmission of noise and vibration caused by the rotation of unbalanced equipment such as centrifuges and blowers, the compression mounts can effectively isolate disturbing frequencies as low as 900 rpm and provide up to 90% isolation at 15,000 rpm. They are suitable within temperature ranges between -20 °F and +180 °F and are resistant to ozone, fuel, and oils. Mounts are available in several different sizes and configurations, ensuring that all needs are met.

Cupmounts - Cup Mounts

Our rugged and versatile cupmounts are an excellent solution for protecting sensitive equipment from high-impact shocks, controlling vibration, and interrupting structure-borne noise.  Typically used to mount equipment in compression, tension and shear applications, they provide optimum resistance to severe shock that can occur on rough-terrain vehicles, railroad cars, ships, and aircraft. Cupmounts are supplied in four basic sizes, all of which have interlocking components of steel (or other available metals) and standard neoprene or high damped silicone elastomers. Our cupmounts have a steel plated cap, base, and core, and are available with standard threads, metric threads, or through-hole cores. They exhibit natural frequencies of approximately 25 Hz and isolate disturbing frequencies above 35 Hz.

Ring and Bushing Mounts

Fabreeka offers quality neoprene ring and bushing mounts that offer fail-safe operation when installed in pairs. They are designed with opposing holes in the elastomer, which provide excellent low frequency vibration, making them perfectly suited for applying directly into the structural components of equipment such as air conditioning and office machines. The location of the holes allows for the cushioning of shock and isolation of vibration that is parallel to the mount axis, with the bushing holes isolating vibration perpendicular to its axis. Our ring and bushing mounts come in three different sizes for loads ranging from 1 to 100 pounds, and each of them can operate within temperatures ranging from -20 °F to +180 °F

Universal Mounts

Our universal mounts are capable of withstanding loads in all axes, and are available in several sizes that are suitable for loads ranging from 35 to 4550 pounds. Each mount consists of an elastomeric ring and bushing that are bonded to a centre metal spacer. They offer excellent rebound protection and provide fail-safe, all-attitude isolation for applications such as vehicle cabs, engines, and transmissions. All of our universal mounts are cost-efficient and easy to install.
