Turning Machines

At our manufacturing plant in Glenrothes we have a range of state-of-the-art CNC milling and turning machines that enable us to produce high quality, fully traceable parts and components in small to medium batches both quickly and cost-effectively. The following is a list of our turning machines:

• CNC Tornos Deco 26a – Capable of producing highly complex parts as well as volume work very cost-effectively. 
• CNC Tornos Sigma 20 – Has 6 linear axes, making it ideal for producing less complex parts.
• CNC Star SR16 – A Swiss-type sliding head lathe capable of working to tolerances of +/- 0.005mm.
• CNC Mori Seiki AL2AR – Also able to hold tolerances of +/- 0.005mm, with a work envelope of 250mm (dia.). 
• CNC Index ABC Lathes – A multi-axis lathe with a maximum spindle speed of 5000rpm and a resolution of 0.001mm; ideal for producing precision parts for aerospace and instrument applications. 
• CNC Mori Seiki 253 – A chucking machine that can be used to produce precision parts for close tolerance work. 

Milling Machines

Our extensive milling capacity is based on the following multi-axes machines:

• CNC Matsuura 5-Axis MAM72-25V – A vertical machining centre that allows Euro Precision to offer an enhanced milling package for the most complex components. 
• CNC Masuura MC500V (with Yasnac MXZ Control) – An extremely accurate vertical machining centre offering part tolerances to +/- 0.007mm and repeatability of +/- 0.0025mm. 
• CNC Indexer – Provides a fourth axis for our MC500V centre. 
• CNC Matsuura RAIIF (with Pallet Change System and Yasnac System 180 Control) – Offering excellent machining tolerances of +/- 0.005mm and repeatability of +/- 0.001mm. 
• CNC Matsuura MC610H – A horizontal machining centre with tolerances to +/- 0.005mm and repeatability of +/- 0.002mm.

Services Overview

Euro Precision’s production capability covers both conventional and CNC milling and turning. This is complemented by a comprehensive quality control and inspection facility to ensure parts/components meet the standard required by our customers. We also provide design consultancy services - including CAD/CAM design and prototyping - for customers requiring support in product development. We work closely with them to ensure parts are ready for manufacture at the lowest possible cost.

CNC 5 Axis Milling

State-of-the-art, 5-axis CNC milling machines enable us to produce components of the very highest quality and the greatest complexity, which naturally makes Euro Precision a key supplier for the aerospace, automotive and motorsport markets. Knowing of the stresses our components are likely to be under in these areas, our technicians ensure that parts are machined to the most exacting specifications and to the highest quality standards.

Sliding Head Turning

Having Euro Precision as a manufacturing partner means you have the very latest sliding head CNC lathes at your disposal. To date, we have invested more than £500,000 on quality machines from the likes of Deco Tornos and Star GB, which puts our turning facilities up there with the very best. This, combined with our experience as a subcontractor and the skill strength of our workforce, ensures a flexible service provision that covers almost all requirements. Sliding head components can be made up to 32mm in diameter and in batch sizes of 10 to 10,000.

CAM Software

Euro Precision is an established user of Gibbs CAM, a leading 3D modelling CAM package designed specifically for machinists. With this software, our technicians are able to develop close tolerance components in exact accordance with customer drawings or models. We can accept most of the common CAD files, including DXF, IGES, Parasolid, Solidedge, ACIS, Solidworks and Catia.
