Products

Formed in 1990 as a division of Non Ferrous Stockholders Ltd, Engravamet was established to supply the engraving and sign industry with a high quality of brass sheet. Our customer base grew rapidly and we began to stock materials other than brass including anodised aluminium and stainless steel. These additions led to a natural decision to include plastics and laminates within our range of products. The business has been growing ever since with the establishment of our processing centre in 1997, all the way to the creation of our website in 2009 and becoming the sole UK distributor of the Lam-Flex range of engraving laminates in 2011. As well as offering engraving materials and services we hope to begin selling engraving machines in the near future, this will mark the next stage of our business.

We value customer service and this is why our clients can call us to speak to us directly, foregoing the usual call centre.

Engraving Brass

Engraving brass is a specific grade of metal that engraves quite easily and leaves a clean, sharp cut. It can come under other names such as 'clock brass', 'hard compo or 'leaded brass' but it is always a high quality material that is perfect for engraving with. When using our engraving brass, the material can be finished in two different ways, with a plain mill finish or a bright polish and polythene coated. Our brass thicknesses range from 1.00 mm to 3.00 mm but if you require anything outside these boundaries, we may be able to help.

Trophy Aluminium

Trophy aluminium is a material that is used for nameplates on trophy bases. Whether it be in the education system, within sport or any other activities, there are many applications for this type of engraving. Finishes for trophy aluminium include bright, brushed or matt and are available in a thickness of 0.5 mm. As well as trophy plates, this material can be used on different products such as award plates or even decorative plaques. The sheet size we provide is 4' x 2' which we believe is an extremely versatile and flexible size for many different uses.

Stainless Steel

We have two different types of stainless steel on offer, both will engrave but customers are recommended to choose type 316 if it is going to be exposed to corrosive elements (salt, chemicals, weather). Our finishes for stainless steel include 2B mill finish, dull polish and bright polish and we offer sheet sizes of 2.5m x 1.25m. Applications for this type of material include industrial pipe tags, industrial kitchen appliances and large outdoor signage. For further details, feel free to visit our website.

Phosphor Bronze

Phosphor bronze has similar qualities to engraving brass but offers customers a different colour to choose from. Made using a mixture of copper and tin, phosphor bronze is a coppery colour and over time will weather to a much darker bronze colour. We offer the same finishes to this product as we do with engraving brass and we usually use a thickness of 1.5 mm. Sheet sizes include 4 ft x 2 ft and 6 ft by 1 ft and this material is generally used for memorial plaques but can be used for other things.

Rigid Laminates

Our rigid laminate products are the perfect material to use when producing large signage and electrical control panels. Customers are offered this material in two thicknesses to accommodate different uses, these include 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm. Finishes for this product include both gloss and metallic and the material has many benefits including it being chip and shatter-proof, stain resistant and hard wearing. Our laminates are cut with a saw and engraved with a carbide cutter so customers are guaranteed precision.

Flexible Laminates

We also stock flexible laminates which can be used to produce name badges and small nameplates. This material is provided in a thickness of 1/16" and come in sheet sizes of 48" x 24". We can finish these laminates for you with customers given the choice of matt or metallic finish. This material is also chip and shatter-proof and is cut with a saw and engraved with a carbide cutter for precision. For any more information on any of laminates, you can visit the website or contact us directly via our email at [email protected].

Anodised Aluminium 5005

Our anodised aluminium is generally chosen because it machines very well and it guaranteed to anodise. We offer a wide range of finishes to this product including plain mill finish, polished and anodised, natural (silver), gold, bronze or black, as well as silver anodised. Customers can choose between four different thicknesses of sheet, including 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm. Using anodised aluminium for engraving can be perfect for large outdoor signage, small machinery labelling and kick plates.

Nickel Silver/Zinc

Along with our other metal materials, we also give customers a choice of nickel silver and zinc. Our nickel silver option is provided in a thickness of 0.6 mm and can be mill finished or polished. This type of material can be used to produce nameplates, labels, signs and cutlery. Our zinc products are provided in a thickness of 0.65 mm and are only available in a plain finish. Customers can purchase their zinc in sheet sizes of 2438 mm x 914 mm and they are usually used to produce stencils.
