Since 1974, privately owned contract electronics design and manufacturer EMA Ltd, have been providing their customers with a unique service that combines Tier 1 design and manufacturing, primarily focussing on mid to low volume products. We can offer our customers a high level of service coupled with leading edge processes.
As a specialist manufacturer, we are able to offer our customers excellent interaction combined with all the support that they need. From our two design and manufacturing sites in Glasgow, we provide a range of products including security systems, door entry controllers, RFID transponder and automotive systems as well as Telecom and RF/wireless sub-assemblies.
We also manufacture our own brand of RF sub-assemblies called Tileware® as well as innovative sensors Electraflex®.
EMA work with an external design house to provide our clients with a comprehensive design service that uses state of the art technology to design and create component models, circuit design and PCB layouts for nearly any product. We have an extensive knowledge of RF design, protocols and approvals and it is this knowledge that has helped us create our own product Tileware. We have a background in design for the automotive industry and use this knowledge in conjunction with working with Lucas/TRW trained designers who have over 10 years industry experience. All the products that we design and manufacture comply with standards set out in TS16949. We are use to designing for manufacturing purposes and as we design in house we have total control over every stage of the design process and ensure we meet our client’s agreed production targets. Furthermore we are able to thoroughly project management all design work and we define all deadlines and milestones of a customer’s project and as soon as we have finalised customer’s requirements and we make sure that these are always adhered to.
We are able to carry out all conventional manufacturing processing in-house using both automated and manual techniques. Our automated techniques cover:
•High-speed surface-mount placement
•Screen printing
•Re-flow soldering
•Wave soldering
•Aqueous board cleaning
•Liquid dispensing
•Conformal coating
•Automatic Optical inspection
•Stress-free Depaneling
