If you are experiencing excessive noise, vibration or short bearing life in your machinery, the problem could be due to unbalance. Left uncorrected, unbalance can result in inefficient or rough operation of the machinery, excessive bearing wear, or structural damage and even complete machine failure, which could prove extremely costly in terms of repair costs and down time.
We can help you avoid that potentially catastrophic scenario. The ideal, of course, would be to remove all vibration completely, but since that cannot be achieved in the real world, the goal is to reduce the out-of-balance forces to the degree that vibration’s effect on bearing and machinery life, as well as noise, are at an acceptable level for the application and equipment.
We have extensive knowledge and expertise in production and vibration troubleshooting gained during almost 20 years of specialist experience. With our state of the art equipment, we can cover all aspects of dynamic balancing and vibration testing, including trouble-shooting the most elusive vibration problems in rotating machinery. We have years of experience in consulting and advising on design challenges in the turbine, compressor and pump industries, including the balancing of specialist prototype equipment such as aero test and prototype test rigs for both slow and high-speed applications, some as high as 40,000 RPM. We perform contractual balancing for components supplied to companies such as European Gas Turbines, Rolls Royce and Lucas Aerospace as well as the M.O.D.
Our business is first and foremost to provide a service, and with that in mind we place a strong emphasis on flexibility and getting your equipment back up and running in the shortest possible time. In most cases we can complete vibration testing or small batch balancing with a 24-hour turnaround.
Since our speciality is balancing and vibration testing, our personnel have comprehensive experience in a wide variety of products and balance methods as well as in-depth knowledge of balance specification standards both international and corporate. Our engineers are trained in the theory and real-world application of balance as well as having received machine-specific manufacturers’ training on our sophisticated equipment.
We maintain the integrity of our balancing services through regular and thorough calibration of our balancing machines. We can issue balancing certificates for all components although this is normally done only for high-integrity components. We use a standard yet flexible certificate format that can incorporate specific customer requirements and preferences.
We can perform dynamic balancing on high-speed cutters such as those used in recycling, food processing, agriculture and specialist applications.
It’s virtually impossible to list all the items that can require balancing for efficient, safe operation. Some of the other items we regularly balance include:
Adaptors; Armatures; Cams and Camshafts; Centrifuges; Clutches and Driveshafts; Flails; Gears and Gearshafts; Hubs; Mandrels; Perfrators; Pinion Shafts; Polishers; Pump Impellers; Rollers; Rotors and Stators; Sanders; Spinners.
