Established in 1976, DW Windsor are manufacturers of stylish exterior lighting and urban furniture in both traditional and modern styles. Our product range offers architects, planners, engineers and designers a great variety of high quality lighting solutions, including our well-established road, street amenity and area lighting lanterns and columns, and our contemporary architectural and accent lighting products.

At the forefront of our technical advancements is our unique patented Diamond Optic® reflector system, which makes it possible to achieve lighting requirements with fewer luminaires, reducing light pollution and minimising energy use. The Diamond Optic® system is compatible with most of our luminaires, including refurbishments and replicas.

As well as providing a variety of traditional and modern lighting solutions, we have a range of street furniture, which includes illuminated bollards that co-ordinate with our lighting range and help to create a fully integrated streetscape design.

Garda LED Handrail

The stylish Garda LED illuminated handrail and balustrade was named by Lux Magazine as 'best on the market' in May of 2013. Constructed from grade 316 stainless steel, this handrail can provide asymmetric or symmetric lighting distribution and market-leading photometric performance, and is essentially maintenance free. The Garda can be used in exterior or interior applications, and is compliant with Building Regulations Park K and BS5395.

Other features of the Garda handrail include dimmability, an emergency option, straight and flexible versions, 3,000K warm white or 4,000K neutral white colour options, 60,000 hours of life at 70% output, and choice of stanchion and mounting arrangements.

Vaio LED

The linear, encapsulated Vaio LED system has a robust construction, clean low-profile design and five different lengths and colour options, including cool/warm white and RGB. Its tough design opens up a variety of potential interior or exterior applications, including uses in walkways, paths, walls and vehicle-carrying areas.

The Vaio LED has minimal daytime appearance and is a perfect choice for defining or highlighting architecture. It also has a DMX controlled colour changing option, which allows you to choose between RGB and monochrome options, including white, red and blue. There is also a full advice and project management service available for this product.

Pharola

The Pharola family of architectural LED luminaires are very versatile and are designed to easily blend in to a variety of urban environments. These luminaries provide an incredibly energy efficient solution for parks, pathways and other pedestrian areas, and can be provided in two different styles of wall bracket or as bollards of 600mm, 1000mm or 2200mm high. The bollard version may be the slimmest LED bollard on the market, but its design is nonetheless robust and vandal resistant.

Other features of the Pharola range include high-performance LEDs, uniform 360º lighting distribution and more than 60,000 hours of service life at 70% output.

Milano

The distinctive, modern Milano is an area lighting post-top luminaire, designed to provide a strong lighting statement for high end city centre areas or corporate installation. Depending on the surrounding architecture or landscape that it needs to complement, its canopy arms can be straight or curved.

Other options include flat toughened glass or polycarbonate diffuser, conventional or electronic control gear, remote dimming and control, and the ability to be mounted on 76mm and 89mm diameter columns.

Binga

As well as our range of stylish lighting solutions, we have equally appealing urban furniture to match. One example is the Binga linear bench, which can be extended in 2020mm sections. It has galvanised steel legs with anthracite grey coating, and untreated long-lasting FSC-certified hardwood slats, which will still look good after weathering, becoming a natural silver-grey patina.

The Binga comes in a variety of options, with bench, seat and table versions. These come in different sizes, and the tables can have inset legs or legs on the ends. In addition, these products can be customised to fit individual requirements.

Alena540

Another urban seating option is the Alena540, a double-length seat with 2500mm and 1250mm slats that create a staggered joint detail. Like the Binga, the Alena540 is made from untreated, long-lasting FSC-certified hardwood, though the Alena540 has concrete feet. This seating is simple to install on a finished floor level, as it is a free-standing design.

Options include the bench with back rests and a curved bench version, which can be built to your individual specifications. If required, back rests can be added in 880mm or 1380mm lengths, either in a line or on opposite sides.

Traditional Lighting

If our modern lighting solutions do not suit your application, we also have a range of traditional lighting products, for more vintage appeal.

One example is the Windsor, which uses its decorative chimney to cleverly disguise the pre-heat mechanism for the gas mantle airflow. This product is a new interpretation on what was a high-tech solution in its day, made for high ingress protection, award-winning optical performance and easy maintenance.

Another option is the Knightsbridge, which combines a traditional 'turn of the last century' style with Diamond Optic's ® high performance and flexible light distribution. While some luminaires may lose their sense of proportion when mounted fairly high, the Knightsbridge's six-sided, wider design make it more suitable for such applications.

Litter Shark

Among our urban furniture range, we have the Litter Shark polished stainless steel litterbin. This litterbin is both stylish and vandal-resistant, and comes in a range of styles, sizes and capacities. The Litter Shark can be floor, wall or post mounted, and includes waste separation, advertising windows and ashtray options.

The Litter Shark is made from polished stainless steel, which is 2mm thick for the Litter Shark 1, and 3mm thick for the Litter Shark 2. It also has a snap-lock door mechanism, cast zinc door hinges, and an internally mounted stainless steel ring for securing liner bags and easy emptying.

If you need maximum protection against splintering, we also have the Protectus Litter Shark, which is strengthened and blast-proof.
