Basketry

Here at Desser & Company Ltd we are also pleased to supply top quality and beautifully crafted baskets. Baskets are available in a range of styles, colours, shapes and sizes to suit different personal tastes and requirements. Customers may choose from our set of 4 white painted willow lined baskets, our large willow oak log basket, our set of three white rectangular linen baskets or our round brown plastic PVC lined pot baskets. Whatever your requirements, we are sure to have something that takes your fancy. All products are manufactured to incredibly high standards using top quality materials.

Environment

Desser furniture is manufactured in accordance with Government Controlled Environmental Legislation. We use top quality rattan that is largely sourced from Indonesia – the biggest rattan supplier in the world. In fact, rattan from Indonesia accounts for almost 70 per cent of the worldwide trade. Rattan grows only amongst existing trees and encourages the preservation of forests as a companion crop. It also provides some of the poorest people working on the fringes of the forests with a sustainable income.

Here at Desser, we are pleased to follow a policy of sustainable sourcing and traditional manufacturing methods that minimise the damage to the natural environment.

Product Care

It is important to look after your Dessen furniture to ensure it remains in fantastic condition. Cane furniture should be kept in a dry environment and not positioned in direct light for long periods of time. We recommend that conservatory furniture is repositioned from time to time to ensure that the same parts aren’t continuously exposed to the sun. Conservatory blinds are recommended where possible. Cane frames can be easily cleaned by wiping gently with a slightly damp cloth. A dry paintbrush is also very effective for dislodging dust from between the grooves. An occasional spray of furniture polish will keep the cane looking fresh but remember to avoid potentially harmful chemicals
