Coupland
Bell has been specialising in finite element analysis for many years, and we
now use state-of-the-art Solidwork Cosmos FEA software not only for static and
thermal analysis, but also for dynamic analysis – the prediction of dynamic
response, frequencies and mode shapes. Most of our static analysis experience
comes from aerospace and gas turbine projects, while our experience in dynamic
analysis is mainly in predicting the resonances of aerofoils and bladed disc
assemblies in the aerospace sector alone. Finite element analysis is used to lower design costs and to optimise product performance, efficiency and weight.
Vibration control is another area in which Coupland Bell has a great deal of experience. We are able to provide noise and vibration consultancy and failure analysis for a variety of machines, particularly gas turbines and other forms of turbo machinery such as wind turbines, marine propulsion systems, propellers and fans. Our engineers conduct a full site survey in order to establish the exact cause of the problem. We then advise you on the measures that might be taken to rectify problem or mitigate the effects.
