James Nysson founded Clinical Professionals in 2006 with the sole purpose of focusing on Clinical Research recruitment in the UK and Europe. In 2007 Clinical Professionals arranged our first 10 contractors and our first initial European contracts followed the year after. The success of our business meant that a second office was opened in London to work in conjunction with the Head Office in Reading. In 2012, Clinical Professionals opened a third office in Germany to meet the increasing European demand for our services.

Clinical Professionals has grown in the last few years to become the largest European independent pharmaceutical and research staffing company. We have an impressive turnover of €14m and an even more notable is our partnerships with 8 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies. We have also formed strong working relationships with other areas of the industry including Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), medical communications agencies, medical device organisations in addition to emerging biotechs, regulatory bodies and research charities.

We now have a team of 80 staff working across our three offices and we have placed candidates in 15 countries throughout Europe. One of our main business policies is staff development and we have high staff retention which is one of the reasons why we can offer our clients such a superior degree of service.

International Coverage

Clinical Professionals have a strong international presence and recruit for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Clinical Services industries around the world. Our team of experts work closely with our clients to ensure that they understand their exact needs. Having an international presence has enabled us to create wide-ranging international database that allows us to match candidates with clients across a range of specialist disciplines that includes pharmacovigilance, quality assurance and biostatistics. We currently cover 15 European countries but are always expanding our international coverage.

Permanent Staffing Solutions

At Clinical Professionals we appreciate how hard it can be to find the right candidates, especially for specific roles and in certain areas. Our extremely consultative approach, allows us to find the right candidates for our clients and we have a strong track record in matching the best candidates for hard to fill roles. We use ‘tried and tested methods’ alongside new technologies to source candidates. We will regularly post on our own website as well as other trusted websites and we also use a range of CV databases. Furthermore we attend conferences and advertise in relevant publications, all with a view of strengthening our brand image. We network with both our clients and candidates as well as responding to their feedback and we are continually looking for new online opportunities to improve our presence.

Contract Staffing Solutions

We can offer our clients contract candidates on a freelance, fixed term, contract or permanent basis depending on the needs of your company. Our freelance candidates can often be available at short notice and use their extensive experience to hit the ground running. All of our freelance staff are registered as either as a limited company or through a known Umbrella Company in order to comply with employment laws. Another popular option is to use our own in-house contractors, whom clients can second for mid to long terms of employment. We offer our contractors a range of attractive benefits, administrative assistance, a Contractor Line Manager as well as full training and a development bursary.

Interim Staffing Solutions

If you need to find an interim manager quickly, Clinical Professionals can help. We can normally find a suitable candidate within 24 hours and if we can’t we work with you to come up with a suitable action plan. We will always meet you face to face to ensure we understand your business and requirements and we will only register candidates who we feel are suitable for your company and job role. We interview every candidate before we submit them and with every CV we send you we will also provide a client competency report and a full summary of the interview we have conducted.

Executive Search

Our executive search team consists of consultants who have extensive experience in making senior appointments in all areas of clinical development. We use a series of stages to ensure that we find the right candidate for the job. Our first stage is consultancy, where we gather an understanding of the role; we then submit an assignment brief to make sure that we have addressed all of your requirements. We then use our resourcing strategy to deliver a bespoke staffing solution to meet the needs of your brief. Finally, we screen the suitable candidates through on-to-one interviews before making our recommendations.

Recruitment Outsourcing Process

At Clinical Professionals we can offer a completely outsourced Recruitment Process Management service to help companies who need short term staffing solutions in busier periods. Each solution we offer is completely tailored to the individual client and can be used to provide either long-term in house provisions or can be used for special or pilot projects. Our service offers an improved staffing process and saves both time and money. By outsourcing the hiring of staff it frees up time internally and enables staff to concentrate on their workload rather than spend time searching for candidates.

Talent Tracker

It is important to be aware of those with the relevant skills that can be an asset to your company, even at times when you are not actively looking for staff. At Clinical Professionals, we offer our clients an innovative Talent Tracker service that is a database of potential candidates that have the necessary skills and experience our clients will be looking for at a later date. Upon registering for this service, one of our dedicated sector consultants will discuss both your current and future staffing needs. Using the information that you provided us with, we will then create a talent tracker profile and if applicable a timescale for your future staffing plans. We will continue to build a database of candidates so that they are ready and pre-screened for when you next have a position to fill.

Business Charter

At Clinical Professionals, we work to a Business Charter for both clients and candidates to ensure that we offer them the best service at all times. Our core values are;

• Quality

• Accountability

• Integrity

• Ambition

• Courage

• Collaboration

We uphold these values at all times and ensure that we adhere to the highest ethical standards. We work closely with our clients and candidates to develop strong relationships. Our clients can be assured of working with a company who understands their business and will only submit candidates that we know will be a good fit in you. Whereas our candidates are listened to, treated individually and have an achievable career plan developed for them.

Training and Development

Clinical Professionals run programmes on a regular basis that are tailored for the pharmaceutical industry and cover specialist technical subjects and soft skills development. We operate the programmes from our in-house training facility or alternatively we can deliver custom made programmes to your organisation on site. In addition, we can provide CRA recruitment and training across five European countries; Germany, UK, Netherlands, France and Switzerland. This is an intensive three day course of theoretical training and a selection ‘Breakthrough’ course. There are two further days of follow up training. We design and deliver these courses using our own training staff and we offer ongoing support and mentorship during the contract. Our staff will also provide theoretical knowledge training on a modular basis, with the Client partner company enabling the training to be put into practice.

Function Service Provider

The FSP model is considered an industry best practice and has had proven results in many bio-pharmaceutical organisations. Whereas it was often the case that monitoring would be completed in house by permanent bio-pharmaceutical staff, it is now becoming more common to outsource the full clinical study, (full service CRO). Using the FSP model, companies are able to separate core/non core capabilities and choose their own provider for specific subjects. Using the Clinical Professionals model you are able to still have control over your in-house monitoring function. By utilising the FSP model organisations can concentrate on other areas of their business such as drug development.

Pipeline Watch

Pipeline Watch is a service for candidates from Clinical Professionals, which allows them to keep abreast of developments in their chosen career market and offers them continued career advice. It is easy to register for the service and only requires three simple stages. Firstly, one of our trained consultants will conduct a consultation with you over the phone that will allow us to find out about your salary expectations, desired locations and your career plans. We will then create you Pipeline Watch Profile using the information that you have provided us with and if necessary a timescale for you career development. Once your profile is complete, our Pipeline Match Alerts will email you when a suitable opportunity arises.

Contracting

Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology environments are increasingly looking for experienced contractors to fill specialist roles within their organisations. Freelance contracting can offer candidates rewarding financial options and excellent tax advantages, however it is not without it risks as there is no guarantee of income nor do freelance contractors have the benefit of being backed by a Human Resources Department. However many people enjoy the variety and diverse opportunities long-term freelance contracting work brings. At Clinical Professionals we have many positions available for freelance candidates and we ensure that they are all registered as either their own limited company or are able to work through an Umbrella Company.

Permanent Candidates

Finding a permanent position can often be an extremely stressful and time consuming exercise, which is why Clinical Professionals are committed to helping our candidates find the right job for them. We work with you on a consultative level and develop your career plan together, once we have fully understood your needs. Our consultants all have relevant industry experience and are able to use this to match your requirements and approach the right companies. Furthermore, we will provide you with objective feedback on your CV and seek comprehensive feedback from your interviews.

Career Clinic

CV Diagnostic and Career Clinic are both free services offered by Clinical Professionals for candidates at every level of their career. Using the CV Diagnostic service we are able to offer candidates a personalised review of their CV so it stands out from the competition. When candidates are applying for certain vacancies we will ensure that their CV is targeted towards that particular role. Our Career Clinic helps to provide both long and short term career guidance to our candidates by looking at their current level of experience and their future goals. We are then able to provide candidates with a range options and career paths to choose from.

Clinical Professionals Specialist Sectors

At Clinical Professionals we have dedicated consultants who have specialist knowledge in their chosen sector. From the outset, we educate our consultants to ensure that they have unparalleled training in their sector and we place them in their specialist sector department to enable them to work with more experienced consultants and learn from them. After the initial training period, our consultants receive weekly in-house training and are encouraged to self learn to achieve their personal research targets. We also use recognised industry providers including TOPRA and the ICR to provide on-going structural technical training.

EAA Regulations

The EAA Regulations control the practices of recruitment agencies and recruitment businesses to make sure that they are operating ethically and legally as well as protecting the rights of work seekers and Limited Company contractors who use recruitment companies. At Clinical Professionals we take these regulations very seriously and we adhere to them at all times. As such, we ask to see proof of identification from all candidates, as well as evidence of training and qualifications. We will always provide our candidates with all the relevant factual information and any Health and Safety documents provided to us by the company.
