For over 30 years, Chilworth has pioneered process safety in the UK while sharing our testing, consulting and training expertise internationally. Headquartered in the UK, we have branches in the USA, Italy, France, Spain and India with laboratories in both Southampton Science Park (England), Princeton (NJ, USA) & Shanghai (China).

Our GLP compliant facilities offer industrial explosion hazard and chemical reaction evaluation, electrostatic testing, as well as a full range of regulatory testing services for REACH, CLP and transport applications. Our electrostatic services cover profiling of powders, films and liquids for both production handling problems and electrostatic ignition hazards.

Chilworth is now part of DEKRA's business unit DEKRA Industrial, where all explosion, process and plant safety activities reside. We continue to offer all of our existing laboratory testing, consulting, training and instruments services but will be able to do so over an even wider geographic region that now includes Germany, Netherlands and Japan. These add to our existing bases in UK, USA, France, Italy, Spain and India.
 
Chilworth has tens of thousands of hours experience in providing process safety solutions for our clients. Producing customised test regimes to solve particular plant problems, undertaking hazardous area classifications, electrostatic audits and most recently ATEX137 and DSEAR audits. And should the unthinkable happen we are also here to provide rapid response for incident investigation and, if necessary, expert witness services.

Our client base covers more than 40 countries, and includes manufacturing companies in the fine chemicals/pharmaceutical, bulk organics, food stuffs, paints, resins/plastics, dyestuffs, pigments, agrochemicals, soaps/detergents, oil/petrochemicals, and the legal and insurance fields.
