Founded in 2008, The Burlington Group is already recognised as a leader in specialist debt collection.  We were recently short-listed for Enforcement Team of the Year at the Debt Collection Awards in 2013.  What has made us shine in the field of specialist debt collection is our dedication to maintaining high standards of training and to developing our capabilities.

Unlike other field debt collection providers we have statutory powers to encourage and enforce repayment of debt.  We have more than 30 teams of High Court Enforcement Officers across England and Wales, all of whom have the power to seize and remove goods from judgment debtors.  This is an extremely effective and persuasive tool leading to impressively high levels of debt recovery.  Our certified bailiffs have similar powers, resulting in significantly high success rates when collecting commercial rent arrears.

Burlington Group bring the extra power needed for commercial debt collection, as well as the expertise needed to enforce that power.  There is a wealth of information and advice on our website and members of our Customer Services Team are happy to advise you on our effective debt collection solutions.

High Court Enforcement

You have gained a County Court or High Court judgment, but it’s not doing any good as the creditor refuses to pay, despite having goods of value.  That is where the expert team at Burlington Group come in.  As High Court Enforcement Officers authorised by the Ministry of Justice, our certified bailiffs can act to recover what is owed to you.  Our officers are authorised to enforce most County Court and all High Court judgments.  We operate throughout England and Wales to recover your debts from judgment creditors.  Our expert account management teams will liaise with you and keep you up to date with how your case is proceeding.  You can also keep on top of things by using our technology to view and track the progress of High Court enforcement.  All this is explained in understandable detail on our website, so do have a look.

Business Debt Collection

Unfortunately, non-payment of debts by commercial creditors is not an uncommon problem faced by businesses today.  Chasing these debts is time-consuming, detracting from your core business, and often unsuccessful.  The Burlington Group offers a complete business debt collection service, leaving you free to carry on with your own business.  Our services range from initial contact by telephone and letter all the way through to litigation and enforcement of court judgments, should that become necessary.  As High Court Enforcement Officers, we have the power to seize assets if a judgment creditor refuses to pay, which is a very persuasive and effective tool.  Our Client Services Team will contact you regularly to keep you up to date on progress and we also provide you with the facility to review case progress using the Burlington Pathfinder portal.  Have a look at our website for a good deal more information about our business debt collection services.

Rent Arrears Recovery

Our officers have statutory powers authorising them to seize goods belonging to commercial tenants who have failed to pay rent as agreed.  We are then permitted to sell debtors’ goods at auction to offset rent arrears.  Often, however, our experts are able to negotiate a full short-term pay arrangement.  Additionally, we can enforce judgments relating to expired tenancy agreements, meaning you do not have to just write off that debt.  See our website for a good deal more information about commercial rent arrears recovery, as well as our Guide to Recovering Commercial Rents Arrears.

Asset Repossession

Asset repossession can be a complicated affair, but at Burlington Group we have the necessary expertise and facilities to carry out repossession effectively.  In fact, we are one of the leading asset repossession solution providers today, with a success rate of 92 – 95% on a ‘prime book’.  We can offer you advice based on years of experience.  Visit our website and download our free Guide to Asset Repossession.

Lease Forfeiture

There are times when, for a variety of reasons, it can become necessary for commercial landlords to repossess commercial properties.  Our team of certified bailiffs are well qualified and experienced to help landlords to forfeit leases.  We well as returning the property in question we can arrange security provisions to ensure the property is protected from trespassers.  Our team of Enforcement Officers across England Wales can act immediately to repossess and secure your commercial property.  See our website for more information, including our free Guide to Evicting Commercial Tenants.

Certificated Bailiffs

When you want expert help in recovering money owed to you by a debtor, instructing a certified bailiff is a very effective solution.  When you instruct our bailiffs to recover debts that have been determined by a court (judgment debts), their right, under warrant, to seize goods gives a powerful and persuasive tool to encourage your debtors to pay.  Bailiffs are not just debt collectors, as only a certified bailiff has the right to seize goods.  Have a look at our website where we offer lots of information and advice about using bailiffs.

Squatter and Trespasser Evictions

Squatters setting up residence in disused premises is a growing problem.  Unfortunately, certified bailiffs do not have the power to eject in these cases.  However, as High Court Enforcement Officers we can enforce possession orders against squatters and trespassers.  A similar headache is trespassers and travellers on open land.  There are a number of methods of evicting in these instances, but all depend on the circumstances relevant to each individual case, the number of trespassers or travellers involved and the degree to which the land has been settled upon.  Fortunately, we have a good deal of experience in these often tricky cases and possess the expertise you need to clear your land.  Take a look at our website for more information and advice on this issue, as well as our free Guide to Squatter Eviction.

Burlington FastTrack

Burlington FastTrack is specifically designed for creditors who are involved in non-consumer lending.  At times, due to non-payment, it can become necessary to repossess goods which have been bought under finance agreements.  Burlington FastTrack is a very effective recovery tool in these circumstances.  When we enforce a High Court Order, working as High Court Enforcement Officers, we have the power to seize goods in addition to those provided under the finance agreement, thus greatly increasing your chances of full recovery of the amount owed.  Our Customer Service Team will be happy to discuss FastTrack with you in greater detail, plus there is more information available on our website, including the free Burlington FastTrack Brochure.
