The British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association (BTMA) is the key trade association in the UK for companies manufacturing turned parts and machined components. We work across a wide range of areas and undertake many different activities – all with the aim of developing and promoting various facets of the industry.
The BTMA has a wide range of aims and objectives, as laid out in our constitution. One valuable aspect is acting as a forum so that members can discuss relevant and current issues, as well as exchange information.
We provide technical support and guidance to members, dealing with all matters that are relevant within the industry. The wide range of topics includes legislative and regulative issues, environmental matters and technical developments and, indeed, all developments that can or will have an effect on our members and/or on the industry as a whole.
Another key function is to serve as a central representative body for the industry. This increases the effectiveness with which views are presented to UK government departments and agencies, as well as the European Commission and Parliament.
We value training and work with our members to develop effective skills training throughout the industry.
Trade visits, both at home and abroad, are an extremely effective way to keep to do date with developments within the industry, as well as methods and processes used by companies outside the industry.
We undertake projects to raise, borrow and disburse money to further help to obtain our objectives.
We work closely with our members, as well other trade associations – always with the aim of increasing the profile of the industry and achieving the objectives of the BTMA. We identify projects or tasks that can be undertaken across the world to enhance the interests of the industry and our members.
