Design and Analysis

Our engineering design and analysis services have helped clients reduce their project costs considerably. As well as providing peer reviews of existing studies, we evaluate and optimise your new designs using a collection of industry-standard and in-house validated software models. We also have our own materials laboratory for sample analysis and testing. 

Tests carried out by BPP-TECH engineers include:

• SURF (including cables, etc.) – local and global analysis, structural analysis, hydrodynamic analysis, service life assessment.
• OrcaFlex Dynamic Analysis – including fatigue, clashing, interface loads, extreme strom/event.
• ABAQUS / ANSYS Finite Element Analysis – design verification, parametric model generation, local fatigue loading, local stress concentration. 

Riser Management Systems

BPP-TECH’s Riser Management Systems (BPP-RMS) improve safety and efficiency for drilling and intervention risers. These systems are becoming standard for new-build drilling vessels, and will likely become mandatory for all deep water drilling in the future. 

BPP-RMS enables the operator to:

• Carry out comprehensive real-time riser stress analysis
• Assess condition of drilling and intervention risers
• Take informed actions to improve operability, safety, and riser life
• Undertake operations in uncertain environments, e.g. loop and eddy currents
