SILEXA™ Sorb

SILEXA™ Sorb is a loose, absorbent material which is ideal for cleaning up liquid spillages. It can absorb up to seven times its own weight in water without leaving behind any residue. SILEXA™ Sorb can also be used as a packaging material in the shipping of product samples and laboratory chemicals: it’s lightweight, non-flammable, and it will absorb and contain any leakage that may occur during transport. An oil-selective (hydrophobic, oleophilic) version is also available: this only absorbs fuels and oils and will not pick up any water in the process. SILEXA™ Sorb is manufactured to BS 7959-1:2004 and BS 7959-3:2007.

SILEXA™ Pillows

SILEXA™ Pillows are made specifically for soaking up smaller drips and splashes. The range includes the hand-sized, super-absorbent SILEXA™ Blotter, a 210 x 170 sheet capable of soaking up over 500 grams of liquid, as well as two larger Pillows measuring 485 x 240mm and 485 x 390mm, capable of absorbing 2.88kg and 5.90kg of liquid respectively. The larger SILEXA™ Pillows are also available in oil-selective (hydrophobic, oleophilic) versions.

All SILEXA™ Pillows are manufactured to BS 7959-1:2004, BS 7959-2:2000 and BS7959-3:2007.

SILEXA™ Socks

SILEXA™ Socks are designed to complement any maintenance/spillage kit. They are the most flexible products in our range, designed to be pliant, supple and absorbent enough for the user to mould, form and comply with any tight, difficult shape, restricted space or machine. They measure 1,330mm in length, 45mm in diameter, and they are capable of absorbing 1.98kg of liquid. Oil selective (hydrophobic, oleophilic) versions are also available – these can be used on land and marine/water spillages as single items or tied together in multiples. SILEXA™ Socks are manufactured to BS 7959-1:2004 and BS 7959-3:2007.

SILEXA™ Carbon

Every year, Bowman Stor imports more than 350,000kgs of high quality activated granular carbons for use in our high specification SILEXA™ Carbon filtration products. These are used by various industrial sectors, including waste management, water treatment, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and engineering – all of which require different levels of particulate, vapour/air and water filtration/purification.
