Chemical Dosing

Chemical dosing equipment often forms part of a water purification system that includes coagulation and flocculation processes, RO plants, pH adjustment, demineralisation plant regeneration, boilers and other purification equipment. However it can also be used separately to sterilise water supplies. 

We offer a range of chemical dosing sets that use variable stroke diaphragm dosing pumps made from PVC or stainless steel – these are mounted atop a polyethylene or stainless steel tank and come complete with all the required injection fittings and chemical hose. Dosing sets are available in single or 3-phase configurations. More information can be found on the AWE website. 


Coagulation/settling vessels are used in a range of applications that require the addition of chemicals to the water being treated in order to form precipitates and to settle suspended solids. The water is mixed with the chemicals and flows down to the base of the vessel via a central chamber. It then flows up the outside of the vessel where the precipitates and suspended solids settle out. The sludge that accumulates at the bottom is removed and the treated water is collected from the top of the vessel.  Find out more about our coagulation vessels on the AWE website.

Ion Exchange Equipment

Ion exchange equipment is used in a variety of water treatment processes. However, the quality of water produced depends heavily on the type of resins or chemicals being used in the process. Iron Removal Filters

AWE’s iron removal filters contain a special media that catalyses the oxidation of the iron in the water. The water is then filtered out on the media. Backwashing of the filter removes the iron and regenerates the media. Iron removal filters are often used to protect ion exchange and reverse osmosis equipment, but can also be used separately where the unpalatable taste and staining characteristics of iron in water supplies is causing a problem.
