Aside from our standard range of mechanical struts we are also able to design and manufacture mechanical struts to suit your individual requirements. Please contact us for further details.

Compression Springs

We supply an extensive range of helical compression springs of varying tolerances. Our springs are made from the following materials:

Music Wire - Per ASTM-A228 or AMS 5112. Music wire springs are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 121 deg. C (250 deg F).

Stainless Steel Type 302 - ASTM-A313 or AMS 5688 spring tempered (chemical & physical only). Stainless steel springs are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 260 deg. C (500 deg. F).

Our springs are reliable and efficient and are available at cost effective prices.

Heavy Duty Compression Springs

Our range of heavy duty springs are specifically designed for use in any heavy stress, heavy load application. Our springs are designed to be used in a range of temperature settings, however, they are not recommended for use where temperatures may exceed 220 deg C. Our heavy duty springs are supplied in the standard finish for quality purposes, however, other finishes are available on request.

Extension Springs

Our stock of helical extension springs have uniform body diameters and are produced with full twist loops the same diameter as the body. Our extension springs are capable of wide application for experimental, development, prototype and maintenance work.

Our springs are made from the following materials:

Music Wire - Per ASTM-A228 or AMS 5112. Music wire springs are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 121 deg. C (250 deg F.)

Continuous Extension Springs

Continuous length extension springs are designed to meet the demands of unusual applications or maintenance operations. They are designed to be cut to length to meet custom load applications using a specific formula. This can be found on our website. Our team of engineers and quality control team monitor production at all stages to ensure products are created of the highest quality. We have the capabilities of producing small and large batch quantities.

Torsion Springs Stainless Steel

Our springs are commonly used to store and release energy of rotation or to maintain a pressure over a short distance. Items within our selection of stock include torsion springs with four end positions. Our torsion springs are made from stainless steel Type 302 - ASTM-A313 or AMS 5688 spring tempered (chemical & physical only). They have straight torsion ends as standard and a plain finish however, other finishes are available upon request.

Torsion Springs Music Wire

Our selection of music wire torsion springs are designed to be used over a mandrel or arbor and complements our range of stainless steel torsion springs. They are available in three end positions and offer alternate positioning to the stainless steel range. Standard mandrel sizes are maintained throughout the music wire torsion selection. Mandrel sizes allow for about 10% clearance at the deflections listed. If greater deflections are used, the mandrel size should be reduced. Sufficient room (minimum axial space) must be provided in the assembly to function properly. The minimum axial space does not refer to the length of the coils.

Conical Compression Spring

Our conical compression springs have square ends and are designed to provide a near constant spring rate at a solid height lower than a normal spring. They offer the advantage of a reduced solid height compared to straight compression springs. All of our springs are manufactured from stainless steel for use in all types of environments. They each feature a variable pitch in order to achieve the constant spring rate and the coils nest during deflection to provide a solid height of approximately two wire diameters. Stainless steel springs are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 260 deg. C (500 deg. F).

Garter Springs

Garter springs are designed to create a clamping force around an object of which they are applied to. The ends are fastened together to form a ring and they are widely used for oil Seals, lip Seals, small Motor Belts and electrical connectors. Like all of our spring products, our garter springs are highly reliable and durable. They feature high initial tension to provide constant load and a special tapered end to assure a strong connection and a continuous near uniform body diameter. Our garter springs are available in a variety of standard lengths which can be trimmed and assembled to meet your required inside diameter.

Constant Force Springs

Our constant force springs are manufactured from type 301 stainless steel and can offer considerable flexibility by using two or more strips in tandem or back to back. The spiral strips have a built-in curvature so that each turn of the strip wraps tightly within its inner neighbour. In the same manner as common extension springs the inherent stress resists the loading force when the strip is deflected, however, it does this at a nearly constant (zero) rate.  The constant-force spring is will suited to long extensions with no load build-up.

Urethane Springs

Our collection of urethane compression springs is designed for use in applications where corrosion, vibration and magnetism prevent the use of a steel spring. Designed to complement our range of steel wire springs, the SPEC line of urethane springs feature multiple durometers to allow various load capacities within each specific size. SPEC urethane springs are compounded specially for optimised spring characteristics. Typical applications include vibration dampening, corrosive environments, high loads in confined spaces, cycle and static loading and nonmagnetic requirements. Our urethane springs are water and oil resistant, non-magnetic, have a 360 deg contact area and can be mated to soft materials.

Wave Spring Washers

We supply wave spring washers for use in a variety of industry applications whereby a small deflection is required. Wave spring washers are usually used in thrust-loading applications particularly where radial space is limited. A typical example is the axial loading of ball bearings. The spring rate is approximately linear between 20% and 80% of available deflection. Our wave spring washers are manufactured from stainless steel and high carbon steel types. Plain finishes are held in stock, however, electroplated or mechanically plated finishes are available. We will recommend finishes suitable for your usage.

Finger Washers

Fingers spring washers are used to counteract noise, excess wear, end play and vibration, especially at high speeds. They promote efficiency and smooth operation, reducing skidding wear on rotating elements. They are also extremely useful in cases of unavoidable loose internal clearances due to special application conditions. Our finger washers are made from high-carbon steel - Commercial 1074 Certified to ASTM-A684. Plain finishes are held in stock, however, many other finishes are available such as phosphate and black oxide processes. We are happy to advise customers on the suitability of finishes for their intended usage.

Belleville Spring Washers

Belleville spring washers are especially suited for high loads in small spaces. By combining them in varying sequence, each size gives numerous load-carrying possibilities. These washers have had all set removed during manufacture. Since the deflection in a single belleville spring washer is relatively small, it is often necessary to combine a number of washers. Stacking them in series increases the deflection in proportion to the number of washers, the load remaining the same as with a single washer. We supply Belleville spring washers for flange applications, High load Belleville spring washers.

Retaining Rings

SPEC retaining rings are specially suited for retaining mating component parts. Typical applications include power transmission assemblies, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, bearing retainment, shaft retainment, as well as many other uses. Our retaining rings are made from steel - Commercial - SAE 1070-1090 Military - MIL-S-46049. High carbon rings are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 250 Deg. F.  (121 Deg. C). Retaining rings are available in standard finish which is of the normal wire, however, plated finishes are available on request.
