Temperature Logging & Acquisition

Alphatemp have a multitude of instruments for logging and acquiring temperature readings. If you want a handheld device, then the A747DL 4 Channel Data Logging Thermometer has capacity for storing 10,000 records and a temperature range between -100 and 1700°C. The EL005 logger (which operates in conjunction with a printer or computer) has a memory storing 250,000 samples, and takes rechargeable long-life batteries. Compatible with the EL005 is our EL042 thermocouple converter, which uses four channels to measure temperatures from -270 to 1820°C. The EL042 has built-in cold junction compensation, which can be turned off in order to quantify ±60mV signals.

Temperature Monitoring

Monitoring temperatures is at the heart of what Alphatemp do, and we have the variety of different thermometers you’d expect! The handheld Type K Digital Thermometer (which is supplied with a calibration certificate) is portable and easy to use, while simultaneously meeting professional standards. Our micro Euro Temp series are controller-based with auto-ranging and back-lit displays, and are suitable for use in industries from engineering to pharmaceuticals. The PC Temp series of probes and thermometers are presented in attractive plastic casing and have 350-hour battery lives, while the bench-mounted Reference thermometers employ high-level linearising methods to give ultra-accurate readings.

Temperature Sensors & Thermocouples

We’d like to point you towards some of the best temperature sensors and thermocouples around (just a few of those which are available on our website). The KI-TP303R General Purpose Immersion Probe is available in connectors with two, three or four wires and has a one-metre PTFE cable. Made in stainless steel and measuring 150 x 3.5mm, the KI-TP400 Industrial Thermocouple comes in types J, K and T and has an IP67-rated aluminium terminal head. The Ki-Ergonomic Standard Handheld Probes are supplied with either ergonomic moulded or impact handles, and their resistance to moisture makes them excellent longlasting investments.

Pico Technology

Alphatemp have the distinction of manufacturing and distributing the prestigious products of Pico Technology. The Pico Three Channel Temperature Starter Kit will enable you to employ the EnviroMon data logging system to monitor temperatures, while the EL042 Alarm and Relay Unit lets you use EnviroMon software’s ‘deviation alarm’ facility to collectively monitor several channels at once. The TA011 400A Current Clamp does not require batteries and consequently is suitable to keep an eye on current usage in applications over unusually long periods (for years, even!). Through calibration, Pico’s EL026 Humidity / Temperature Converter will give readings of the highest level of accuracy.

Electrical Testing & Current Monitoring

Should you need to keep track of the flow of your electrical current, then Alphatemp current monitoring kits come either with or without a USB adaptor. With their help, you’ll be able to log data from as many as three different circuits. These kits are just right for quantifying three-phase supplies, and also great for surveying energy efficiency and machine performance. Both types of kits include a current monitor, logger and current clamps, as well as power supplies and appropriate software, cables and user manuals. All in all, they represent excellent value for money (compared to individual purchase of each component).

PH Probes

A pH probe is a glass electrode shaped like a rod with a sensor at its end, and constitutes an integral element of a pH meter. At Alphatemp we sell two main types of Ph probes, both of which operate at a pH range of between 0 and 14 pH and at a temperature range from 0 to 80°C. The two models come with standard BNC connectors and a metre-long cable. The KI-P10 General Purpose Glass Body pH Electrode is for use in routine situations, while the KI-P11 Liquid Immersible Combination Glass Body Electrode is appropriate when things might get a little wet!

PH Measurements

For measuring pH levels, the KI-pHDRDAQ PC-based Data Logger is a highly user-friendly tool. To assess pH values between 0 and 14H, you just have to connect it to your PC data log. The instrument has data-logging software included, as well as an attached pH electrode. Another helpful piece of equipment is the KIUSB Universal RS232 to USB Adaptor, which is also fitted with a pH probe. Finally, you should always try to maintain your stocks of pH buffer solutions (essential for keeping pH levels consistent). Why not splash out on a litre bottle – available in pH4, pH7 and pH10 variants.

Calibration Services

If you regularly require calibration for your equipment, then Alphatemp Technology offer a full calibration service which is available to any type or model of instrument. This is available between the temperatures 196 °C to +1700 °C and takes place on our own premises in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Alphatemp’s calibration services are validated by UKAS Accredited Traceable Certificates, showing that they conform to nationally laid-down guidelines. We provide single instrument and probe calibration which will be carried out to two, three or five temperature points of your choice (price varies according to the package chosen).
