Alphasense is a totally independent Sensor Manufacturing and Technology Company, founded in response to an overwhelming demand from Gas Detection OEMs and End Users for better quality gas sensors, a higher level of support and a viable alternative to existing dominant suppliers.
THE PEOPLE
Our management team has over 100 year’s combined experience in all aspects of the Gas Detection Industry as Sensor and Instrument Developers/Manufacturers. This means we understand the issues affecting our customers.
SUPPORT
Supporting our customers is one of our highest priorities. The Alphasense team has many years of Design, Manufacturing and Application experience. We are not only improving our products continuously, but also our internal procedures to ensure we offer the highest possible levels of Customer Support.
QUALITY
All sensors are plugged into stabilisation racks that monitor the sensor condition continuously before final testing. This ensures complete stabilisation prior to characterisation. Each sensor is then assigned a unique bar code and its’ associated test data is stored in a custom designed database. This provides an important diagnostic tool and can be used to provide hard copy (where required) of sensitivity, time of response and recovery, zero off-set and RMS noise. The showpiece of this is ATAV, a unique, fully Automated Test And Validation system, which can perform a wide variety of customer specific tests using the latest technology available. Our ATAV system also provides a service as a "clearing house" for third party sensors and technologies, so that our customers always see repeatable validated test data in their chosen format.
TECHNOLOGY
The Alphasense team has a high level of expertise and many years of collective experience in a variety of Gas Detection Technologies including Electrochemical, Catalytic, Optical and Semiconductor to ensure that we offer the best technology solutions to each customers'' requirement. This provides ideal opportunities for Joint Venture Projects or factoring other technologies. As a completely independent sensor supplier, we work in the strictest confidence with our customers to give you the sensor solutions you want.
MANUFACTURING
Alphasense has invested heavily in state-of-the-art automation and process equipment to ensure that sensors are produced and validated in volume to tight specifications. We use Kanban and Cellular Manufacturing Techniques to ensure we deliver the right quality of product, when you want it. Our manufacturing and design operations comply with ISO9001:2000.
INTERNATIONAL
Many of Alphasense customers are located outside the UK and our position near London Stansted Airport gives easy and direct access to World markets.
GAS SENSORS
Alphasense manufactures a range of Electrochemical Oxygen and Toxic Gas Sensors to our own unique design and plug-in replacements for other brands. Our sensors carry a no-leak guarantee, along with computerised bar-code tracking. Further product releases, some utilising alternative technologies, are always under development.

We work in close partnership with our customers and constantly listen to their feedback. Our in-house and external resource of expertise and experience ensures we give them the sensor solutions they want.
