Braille

Adept has employed professional and experience braille readers for almost two decades. Our braille readers use their experience and good practices to ensure that all of our braille documentation is thoroughly quality checked before being sent to the intended recipients. Adept employs in house designers to ensure that all braille documents have an appropriate visual appearance including company logos and branding on the documents. We understand that many of the documents we work on carry sensitive information and we are a registered data controller as required by the data protection act.

Audio

Audio is one of our most popular format choices and allows those with a slight impairment to access information without having to learn new skills. Our audio recordings use professional voice-artists to ensure that the information is clear and easily understood by the end user. Our audio formats use tone and track indexing, which means that end users can easily navigate their way to the required document sections. We can provide our audio information on compact disc, cassette and MP3 as well as files that can be downloaded to computers or streamed online. Adept is one of the leading suppliers in this field and offer audio letter and audio brochures.

Large Print

Large print is one of our most popular transcription formats and provides information access for those with eye impairments and for those who have trouble understanding standard size text. The large print format means that nearly all of the original document features can be retained although some colour and formatting changes may be required. We employ large print readers to advise on acceptable and accessible large print formats. Large print is available across a wide range of documents including utility bills, insurance documents, marketing information and personalised documents, which can be distributed to multiple recipients.

Other Formats

As well as our braille, large print, audio and easy read formats we also offer a wide range of transcription formats. We offer a British Sign Language Letter service for the creation of BSL videos, DVDs and media files. Documents will be read and interpreted in our professional media suite and can include the addition of company logos and pictures during the post editing. Our Moon transcription service is similar to braille but uses tactile shapes instead of dots; Moon is considered easier to learn than braille but is not as widely taught. We also offer our new Daisy format, which is being heavily promoted by the RNIB and consists of content supplied on discs, which are then accessed via Daisy Players.
