Acara Concepts specialise in distributing natural and sustainable acoustic insulation and thermal insulation products throughout the UK and Ireland. PhoneStar is a CE marked sound insulation board made from totally natural materials and at only 15mm thick, it offers outstanding soundproofing results - significantly reducing both airborne and impact sound through floors, walls and ceilings. We also distribute Pavatex wood fibre thermal insulation softboards which are 100% natural and can be used on roofs, walls (both internally and externally) and floors. These breathable boards can be plastered or rendered to directly or used with cladding on external walls. The high density wood fibre insulation boards also have excellent thermal mass properties so they store heat during the day and release it gradually at night-time as it cools in order to stabilise interior temperatures. This is particularly critical on roofs and on timber frame walls.
We recently formed a new partnership with a leading lime render company. Working alongside them we have created a breathable External Wall Insulation (EWI) system that incorporates our high quality natural Pavatex Diffutherm wood fibre board being directly coated with their highly breathable and mould resistant lime render and lime plaster. This concept is entirely environmentally friendly and an excellent ’green’ option and is particularly effective on historic buildings which must be able to breathe throughout their structure.
Acara Concepts uses Phonewell Sound
Insulation for walls as it is the best way to ensure minimal loss of living
space whilst still providing the finest soundproofing solution. Phonewell is
extremely thin and easy to install and successfully reduces both impact and
airborne noise. It is also completely natural and sustainable.
Phonewell offers three types of
soundproofing solution, all of which are durable, independently certified and
in line with building regulations. The thicker the acoustic wall insulation,
the more effective it is at reducing noise. Our sound insulation can be used
on masonry walls as well as timber stud walls.
Phonewell Flooring Sound Insulation offers various options which can be used on both timber and concrete floors and is also compatible with under floor heating. Acara Concepts can advise on the most appropriate system for your floor, based on the ease of access and how much work is needed. We can also recommend whether any additional soundproofing, such as flanking will be needed.
One of the many benefits of using Phonewell is that as well as being thin and easy to install, all known types of flooring can be laid over it so it won’t compromise on the overall aesthetic of your room. The finished floor is solid, hard wearing and capable of withstanding heavy loads.
For a complete room soundproofing solution, Acara Concepts also use Phonewell Ceiling Sound Insulation. We will advise on the best type of ceiling soundproofing for your room, depending on whether you have a contrete or timber joist ceiling and if there will need to be any additional walls insulated to prevent flanking noise.
Both timber and concrete ceilings can be soundproofed either by leaving the ceiling plasterboard or lining undisturbed and fixing optional battens or by having it completely removed. As with all our soundproofing systems, ceiling insulation will reduce both impact and airborne noise and is long lasting.
